Princewill

People see me as that one perfect kid. Perfect life, perfect parents, intelligent, smart, rich, handsome, popular.

Everything about me screams perfection.

I'm the son of Richard Ifeanyi Williams, the founder and CEO of Crownmark Group Ltd, one of the biggest privately owned conglomerates in the county.

Crownmark isn't just some company my father runs from behind a desk. It's an empire. Real estates, construction, oil and gas, hospitality, investments... if there's any money to be made, my father probably has his hands in it.

I've grown up surrounded by it.

The enormous Crownmark headquarters in Victoria Island. The luxury cars that changed every few years. The private drivers. The security personnel. The houses that looked more like hotels. The business dinners and charity galas. The constant stream of important people walking through our home.

And everyone already knows what my future is supposed to look like.

Princewill Williams, future CEO of Crownmark Group.

It's almost funny. I haven't even taken over the company, and people already treat me like the next Richard Williams.

My father has been preparing me for it for as long as I can remember.

Business meetings.

Investments discussions.

Board dinners.

Company events.

Lessons about leadership, negotiation and reputation.

Every mistake I make isn't just a mistake. It's a reflection of the Williams name, and the Williams cannot afford to look bad.

My mother isn't any less successful.

Mirabel Ifeoma Williams was once one of Nigeria's most successful fashion models. She walked major runways, appeared on magazine covers, represented luxury brands and became one of the most recognizable faces in the Nigerian fashion industry. But she didn't stop there.

She eventually built her own fashion empire, MIRABEL, a luxury fashion brand known for couture gowns, red carpet pieces, bridal wear and high-end ready-to-wear.

Her face is still everywhere. Billboards, magazine covers, fashion campaigns, television interviews, social media and fashion weeks.

People see my mother and immediately see elegance.

Beauty.

Success.

Power.

The Williams family practically has it all.

My father owns an empire. My mother built one of her own.

And I'm their only living son.

The heir.

The perfect son who is supposed to carry both names proudly. From the outside, it sounds like dream. But in reality, it's all a lie.

I might come from a wealthy family. I might be intelligent, smart, handsome and popular, but none of those things can replace the  most basic thing a child is supposed to receive from his parents.

Love.

Money can buy almost anything. Except the feeling of being wanted. My parents were rarely at home. My father's life revolved around Crownmark.

Meetings, flights, contracts, investors, business dinners.

My mother's life revolved around fashion. Shootings, shows, fittings, campaigns, interviews.
