Adah

After the annoying call I received from that idiot, I couldn't sleep anymore. I kept rolling on my bed aimlessly, trying to clear my mind.

Eventually, I gave up.

I got up, put on my earpiece, and opened the romance novel I had been reading while listening to Black Magic by Little Mix.

After a few minutes I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up in darkness.

Everywhere was dark.

I didn't know where I was.

"Hello?" I whispered.

My voice echoed.

I slowly began walking, stretching my hands out in front of me, hoping to feel a wall, or maybe find a light switch.

But there was nothing.

It felt like I had been walking endlessly.

"Adah."

I froze.

Someone had called my name but I couldn't see anyone.

"Is anyone there?" I asked, panic slowly creeping into my voice.

Silence.

Then suddenly a woman appeared.

Her clothes were stained with blood. She looked tattered and completely disheveled. I couldn't see her face because her head was lowered, and her hair covered it.

I was too terrified to move.

The woman looked horrifying.

I studied her clothes closely, and  suddenly, I gasped.

Those were the same clothes my mom wore the night she died.

"Mom?" I called softly, unable to move from where I stood.

The woman suddenly disappeared.

My heart stopped.

Then—

She reappeared directly in front of me.

I screamed.

She grabbed my hand and slowly lifted her head, looking me directly in the eyes.

No.

This wasn't my mom.

This woman was terrifying.

Her eyes were dark—almost completely black. Blood trickled down her cheek....from her eyes.

I tried pulling away but her grip was impossibly strong.

Then she leaned closer.

"You killed me," She whispered.

She suddenly let go.

I fell hard to the ground.

"No... no, I didn't mean to!" I cried.

The woman slowly backed away.

Then she disappeared.

Shadows began forming around me. They surrounded me in a circle and began chanting.

"You killed her."

"You killed her."

"You killed her."
