"Could you drop me off at work, instead of bringing me home? Please" I couldn't be late, I couldn't lose my job, i'd have nothing.

"You're gonna go to work in that? Don't you have a uniform? Plus you're soaked." he said, looking me dead in the eye.

"I do, but I can't be late. If you drop me off at my house i'll have to walk to work, so not only would I be late, i'd be wet anyway. Please?" I'd rather show up not in my uniform then show up late.

"How about I bring you to your house, you can shower up and get changed, then bring you to work?"

This has to be a joke, why would he be so nice? Whatever, I had to get to work.

"Sure, I guess. If you want too. That'd be great"

After a short drive, we finally got to my house.

"I'll be right down, wait here okay?" I didn't want him to see my apartment, it was to embarrassing. I'd take a quick shower and throw on some make up and my uniform. It'd take fifteen minutes tops.

"I can't come in?"

"I'd rather you didn't, i'll be as quick as I can. Okay?"

"Yeah, I guess. If thats what you want."

I shut the door and ran upstairs and hopped in the shower. I couldn't help but wonder why he was being so nice. I shampooed as quick as I could and got dressed. I put my hair in a braid and put on a little bit of make-up and rushed back down stairs. When I got back in his car, he was talking on the phone, which worried me. What if he was talking to Destiny or somebody else from her demented bitch-crew? Shortly after I got in he hung up.

"Where too?" he asked, looking for a business name on my uniform.

"Burger Shot, on East Ganesvort"

"Oh, got'cha"

I wasn't late, thankfully. Mike had dropped me off three minutes before I had to clock in. Today I worked five to ten, I just wanted to go home and go to bed.

Work dragged by, same shit different day. I went to clock out of my register until I heard the door bell ring, in walked Destiny and her current boy toy, Jesse.

"Ryan, glad to see you made it work in time. I heard what happened to your car."

She laughed the way somebody would if they had just seen a ghost and didn't want to believe it, if that makes sense. I hated her.

"That car was junk anyway, whoever did it was only doing you a favor."

"Do you need something?" I snapped. She could stop wasting my time any moment now.

"Attitude much. I'll take a number 3, how about you babe?" She looked at Jesse.

"A number 6; extra large, no pickles, please."

"Don't worry, she'll just eat the pickles." Destiny laughed.

I've never wanted to just sucker-punch somebody right in the throat so bad.

"It'll be a few minutes, 3 or 4" I walked away to get their food together. I could barely hear Destiny talking to Jesse, but it wasn't anything worth hearing anyway. After a few minutes everything was done. I handed her the bags and she took them, then threw the money on the floor.

"Oops, it slipped" She laughed as she walked away.

"Sorry about that" Jesse said, picking up the money and setting it on the counter before following Destiny out the door.

Whatever, I could finally go home. I clocked out then grabbed my jacket then left. I forgot i'd have to walk home, but at least I got to go home.

"Hey, Ryan" I heard a familar voice yell from the center of the parking lot. It was Mike.

I walked towards his car, "How long have you been waiting here?"

"Since I dropped you off, I figured you'd need a ride home too." he smiled.

I managed to smile a little and got in his car. We talked a bit on the drive back to my house, small talk mainly. We finally got to my apartment.

"Will you need a ride tomorrow too?"

"Uhm, no thanks. I can walk from school, its not to far. Thanks anyway, and thank you for today."

"Are you sure? It's no big deal"

"Yes, i'm sure, thank you. Goodnight" I smiled getting out of his car.

"Goodnight Ryan"
