I woke up late for school, like 3 hours late. So I decided there was no point in going. Instead, I decided today would be a good day to go look at apartments. I called Mike to see if he wanted to join me. Thankfully he did, it'd make it even more exciting.

Even though Mike's seen me soaked, crying and make up running down my face, I still felt the need to look decent. I didn't have much time before he'd be here, so I decided it'd be better to wear no make up versus quick-messy make up. I through on some jeans and a jacket.

I met Mike outside and he greeted me with a hug, which was nice. As we got in his car, my phone rang. I didn't recognize the number, but I answered anyway.

"Hey chick-" I recognized the voice, but couldn't remember from where, "when did you wanna come pick up the second portion of your jackpot winnings?". What, second portion? Did I miss something?

"Second portion?" Mike was starring at me, I looked at him and shrugged.

"Yeah, you won $300,00 every week for a month!" I froze. $300,000?! For four weeks?! That's over a million dollars!

"I-I did?" I didn't know what to say.

"Sure did, biggest win this year! Is today a good day to come by and grab it?" She sounded more excited than me.

"Uh, yeah sure. I'll be there shortly. Thank you". I was almost speechless. I seriously couldn't believe it. This week just gets better and better. I deserved it though.

Mike still looking at me, "what's going on?"  I could give you a million ideas, I thought to myself.

"I didn't only win $300,000." Felt nice to say that. Mike raised an eyebrow.

"I won $300,00 a week, for a month." That felt even better to say. It had finally sunk in, I won over a million dollars and it wasn't a joke.  My heart was beating fast. Then I realized something even better, I could buy a house.

"What?! That's crazy! Congratulations!" Mike was genuinely happy for me, which was sweet.

"I can buy a house." I mumbled. Mike smiled. I'm glad I called him. Being around him just made the news even better.

We drove to the casino instead of apartment hunting. We talked the whole way there. I nervously collected my second weeks winnings and we headed out. By then, it was a little late to start house hunting. So we decided I'd skip school tomorrow and we'd do it then. Mike dropped me off home, and kissed me goodnight. Which sent butterflies flying through my stomach. I realized I had to do something for him, seems how he has been so nice to me, especially fixing my junk of junk on wheels. I decided I'd buy him a new car. Well, not brand new but, old but new to him. I waited for him to pull away then hopped in my car and drove to the closet used car dealer. I didn't know what kind of cars he liked. Luckily, they had a 2013 Honda Accord, that would have to do. I paid extra to have the car delivered to my house, so he'd see it tomorrow. On my way home, I stopped and bought the biggest, but manliest bow I could find.

I woke up the next morning super excited to give Michael his new car and hunt for a house, a house that would be mine. I set a $400,00 budget, to insure the taxes wouldn't be to high for my rip-off of a job. Today was going to be a good day, so I decided to dress to match my mood: confident.

Mike showed up a few minutes late, but I didn't care. I met him at his door and made him close his eyes. I led him to my driveway where his somewhat new car awaited.

I smiled and pretty sure I might've squeaked out of excitement, "ready?!". He nodded. All my excitement came out, "okay open!" I starred at him to see his face.

He barely smiled, "you got a new car, awesome!" I just glared at him, "no silly, it's for you!" I smiled again.

He looked at me, I couldn't read his face. "What?"

"It's a gift! For being so kind and helpful." I smiled even bigger.

Mike looked at me for a few more seconds, then walked over to the car. "I can't accept this." He mumbled.

Uh, yeah you could. "Really, I insist, please." Still smiling.

"I can't, you need it more than me. You keep it, please." He was probably right, but I now realize I could by myself a new car.

"Michael-" I walked over to him, "please, it's a thank you for all you've done for me. I really appreciate it. So please, say thank you." I grinned. He managed a smile, "thank you". He then pulled me into a tight hug, which melted my heart. "thank you" he said again. All I could do was smile.

I didn't want to end the hug, but I was excited, "okay, c'mon! Let the hunt begin!"
