"You found me, lost and insecure"
Ryan is a senior in high school, struggling to be somewhere. At 18, she's living on her own, working at a low paying burger joint to support herself, and still going to school. She's completely different from everyb...
A few days passed, no word from Mike. Nothing's changed, I had collected my third week winnings from the casino. Still hadn't found a house. Oh, and I quit my job. They cut my hours in half and demoted my position. So after my winnings ran out, I wouldn't be able to afford to live on the now 12 hours a week pay. Luckily, I had an interview today. To be a bartender. The pay was good, plus tips. It'd be great.
So I go ready for my interview and headed out. Oh my way there, I tried Mike's cell again: no answer. I guess I should give up, he probably thinks I'm crazy after all the times I've called. Whatever, I knew it was too good to be true anyway. The bar I'd be bar-tending at was 20 minutes away from my house, so I was there pretty quick.
The interview lasted about thirty minutes and it went good. I start next week. I was excited, and my first instinct was to tell Mike. Then I realized, Mike didn't care. Whatever, I was doing fine before Mike came along; I'd be fine now.
The house search was still on, With my new job and better pay, I could adjust my budget a little. It sucked that I now had to look for my house alone, but I'd get over it.
On my way home I stopped and got a few things for my apartment at the store down the street. I grabbed my mail and darted up the stairs. I flipped through the mail, nothing but bills. It was Sunday, so there's nothing to do really. So I decided I'd watch some tv. But instead, I was watching somebody else watch tv; in my living room. It was a girl, in my living room. What the hell? Who the hell? "Uhmm" was all I managed to say. She turned around. She looked 14. "Ryan?" She smiled. So she knew my name and where I lived, but she seemed harmless so that was a plus.
"Yeah, who are you?" Can you say awkwaardddd.
"Your sister." She smiled even bigger. My heart sank. My what? I didn't have a sister, at least I thought. I just started at her, confused. She was pretty, she had nice brown hair, brown eyes to match, and she was skinny.
"Uncle Stephen dropped me off here. Said dad would want it this way." She added, "oh, and my names Molly" her smile growing bigger.
I forgot I had an Uncle honestly. I had so many questions, but I figured now wasn't the time. "When is he picking you up?" I asked, which probably sounded rude. "He's not.", her smile kind of faded, "we live together now".
Wait, what. I didn't know what to think. In a way I was excited, I had a permanent friend. Good thing I got a better job right? After the few minutes of silence I invited her out to lunch to talk.
I learned that she is 15, she's lived with Uncle Ryan since she was born. And she's never met our mom. When she was born, my dad took off with her for over a year. Then came back without her, which was why I didn't know I had a sister. I'm curious on how I never noticed my mom was pregnant, but I guess at four years old you don't really notice that stuff. She was really sweet and smart. Which I don't understand how she's so smart, seems how she hasn't been to school since 6th grade; which she should be in 9th. Uncle Ryan and her moved and he never enrolled her in school. She has no interest in going back to school either.
I filled her in on what I knew about the family, she was upset about mom passing. She didn't mind the fact dad was in jail, she was shocked on the reason, but said we were better off without him. Then I told her what was going on in my life and Uncle Ryan picked a good time to drop her off, because of the casino winnings. She was excited to be with someone who's on their feet and mature. I was excited to have somebody to talk too and hangout with, and live with.
Instead of heading home, Molly convinced me to go house hunting. We seen a bunch from the outside, scheduled some appointments to look at the inside, saw a few on the inside already, and eliminated almost half of them. Either to pricey, to small or to big, or just a dump. There was one we both really liked, and I could afford it. But before we made any final decisions, we'd wait to see the rest of the houses.
A few days passed, me and Molly had gotten super close, like we have actually known each other our whole lives. We were on our way to look at the final potential home, and we were pretty excited, even though we had our hearts set on a place already.
It was really nice, but we liked the other better. I called the owner and set up a day to meet up and talk business. My heart was smiling I swear. I felt so mature and content with life. I'm about to buy a house, I found out I have a sister, and I start my new job tomorrow. I couldn't wait.
It was Tuesday, my new job starts in 2 hours and I was pumped. I showered and got dressed, biggest perk to this job; I could wear my own clothes. I threw together a cute, average outfit and some makeup.

I went and talked with Molly for a little bit before heading out, I wasn't even nervous.
