Chapter 8

Y/n's pov

"AGAIN"

Ares shouted as we clashed swords. It's been two months since he started training me. I learned how to hold a stance and how to block blows, but I still failed at offense.

"You're not blind and deaf", he hissed as he swung his sword. I was able to dodge it, as soon as I did I thirsted my sword towards his side. He side stepped out of the way just in time. He stuck his foot out causing me to trip. I fell face first into the ground. I hurriedly turned over and blocked the sword he thrusted at me. He let out a breath before stepping back.

"You're good at defense, but you need to be good at offense", he fussed. "I know", I huffed as I struggled to stand up. "Do you really, you act like you don't know how to learn", he snapped. "I'm trying okay, I never had to fight the son of a god before", I retorted. "I didn't think I would have to train a blind bat so she can protect a beast", he fussed. I grabbed my sword and swung it towards his neck. He rose his hand in time to block it.

"Don't call her that again", he snapped. "Guess I hit a nerve, I should use word again tomorrow", he chuckled. I lowered the sword back to my side. "We will continue more tomorrow, go back to your gorgon, I feel like her eyes will burn holes into my back if I stay here too long", he said before flying into the sky, I watched as he did. Once I was sure he was gone I let out a shallow breath then began leaning on the sword.

Ares's training was brutal, the first few days I barely made it out alive. I had ribs poking my lungs, a almost shattered femur, and concision everyday. I still don't understand how I survived all that. I hate to admit, but because of that I was able to make my body stronger over time. Today all I had was a dislocated leg. I sat on the ground slowly as I can. Once I sat down I grabbed my knee and pushed it back into place. I held in a scream as I did. I laid back onto the ground to face the sky. I couldn't see it of course, but feeling the wind is nice. I suddenly heard the sound of slithering.

"You could never sneak up on me", I chuckled. I felt her lift my head and place it on her lap. "I wasn't trying to", she chuckled. I felt her straying to stroke my face. I moved my face closer to her hand.

     "Y/n you don't need to do this", Medusa said. "The gods are once again dragging innocent people into their petty arguments", she hissed. I sighed then sat up to face her. "Medusa I- my eyes are up here", she said as I felt her lift my head slightly.

     "My mistake, but Medusa I know the gods are using us", I stated. "Then why do you still train with Ares if you know", she asked. "I want to save you, I will not let you get stained by that bastard, Perseus", I replied. "Y/n, I don't want your help, don't do this for me I will take care of him myself", she snapped. "I'm not doing this for you", I retorted. "Then whoever will you be doing this for, Hera?" She questioned as she got close to my face. I could tell side her tongue brushed against my cheek.

     "I'm doing this for myself, I want a future with you Medusa and only you", I answered. I heard her breath hitch for a moment before she started chuckling then onto full on laughter. "Did I say something weird", I asked awkwardly. "You humans were always selfish, who knew there is a good way to be selfish", she chuckled. I smiled as I grasp her hand. "I guess I am truly a selfish human", I joked as I felt her hand on my cheek. She slowly began rubbing her thumb on my cheek. It was a pleasant quiet for a while between us.

"Y/n, the fates may not be in our favor", she sighed. "We just have to hope they are", I replied. "You always find the positive, but just for joe think negatively", she said. "By negatively you mean, me failing", I sighed. "We need to spend each night as if it is our last", she sighed. "What do you mean by that", I asked. "I want to bond with you", she said. Bond, what did she mean by that?

"I thought we have a bond between", I asked. "No, not that kind of bond", she sighed as she gripped my hand. Before I could ask again, she kissed me hard. I froze as she did. It wasn't like our normal kisses, this one was filled with passion. That's when it finally came to me she wanted to bond in that way. She broke the kiss, but stayed close to my face. "I want to make memories with you, in case my destiny is fulfilled"; she whispered as she rest her forehead onto mines. "Medusa, are you sure", I asked, I felt her nod her head. "I want to be with you, only you", she stated. "I want to spend every moment with you, if I were to die, I want to die with memories", she replied before kissing me once again. I slowly began to kiss her back with the same passion from before. I broke the kiss to catch my breath.

"But I can't see", I mumbled. "That is fine, let Eros guide us through the night", she said before kissing me once again. We fell to the ground gently, a night filled with pleasure.
