Y/n's pov

Ever since I got the "one in" Ares has been training me extra harsh now. It is a pain, but it's useful. Ever since I started training I'm not as frail anymore, I became a bit muscular and my bones don't break as easily anymore. I felt Medusa slowly rub my arms as I laid beside her. "You have became a bit muscular", she stated. "Is that bad", I asked. "No no, it feels nice feeling you're new arms", she replied. I smiled at her before nuzzling into her neck.

"If you have gotten this muscular does it mean you'll stop training now", she asked. "No, why would I", I asked. "You have become stronger now, no need to continue to training with Ares, she answered. "Medusa, I have to keep training with him, I need to be stronger", I replied. I felt her move away from me. "You have become strong, I see how you train with him", she stated. "You are strong, so you can stop training", she added. I sat up fully so I can face her.

"I have to keep training until Perseus gets here", I stated. "You act like killing that bastard is your only goal", she fussed. "Well it is, isn't it", I replied. "No, I will be killing him", she stated as she began slithering away. I jumped to my feet to follow her.

"You'll kill him?", I questioned. "Medusa, I'm training so I can protect you, only you", I added. "What makes you think I can't fight him", she asked. "Medusa, if you get anywhere near him he will kill you", I stated. "So you're saying I'm weak", she snapped. "No Medusa, no matter how strong you get he will kill you,", I said. "If it's your fate you can't cross path no matter what", I added. She was quiet for a moment.

"If Perseus is that strong then, then what makes you think you, a feeble human who can't see will be able to defeat him", she asked. I bawled my fist. "I will kill him, Medusa, which is why I'm training to be ready for the day he comes", I answered. "Perseus is the son of Zeus, the king of gods", she stated. "A god that is more powerful than Ares himself", she added. "Do you still think you'll be able to defeat him", she asked. "I will", I replied. "Y/n! Think negatively for once", she hissed. "What would you do if you don't defeat him", she asked once again.

"I will kill that bastard Medusa, even if I have to die along with him", I stated. "Die? What in the gods are you talking talking about", she snapped. "If I have to die for you Medusa, I will", I replied. I felt her grab my arms to pull my body closer to hers.

"You will not die for me, why would you do that", she hissed. "Perseus is indeed powerful, but if I can wound him fatally then you will live", I stated. "Even if I have to die", I added. "No you are not going to die", she stated. "You will not train with Ares no more", she said. "I'm not a child Medusa, gods why can't you understand I'm doing this for you", I snapped. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO DO THIS FOR ME, I DON'T WANT THAT IT, IT IS WHAT YOU WANT", she screeched. "If killing him and dying along with will make me love you more, well it won't", she snapped. "I will die as well if you kill him", she added. "You will die", I questioned. "The Medusa you love and know will die within me, I will truly become the monster you humans feared", she hissed. "What no, please", I whimpered. "What now you change your mind", she snapped.

"WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND, I CAN'Y LOSE YOU", I shouted as I clung to her. She was silent after I shouted at her. "I never had someone in my life who loved me as much as you did Medusa", I stated. "I never had a mother to love me, Dad to be proud of me, a sister to talk to nor friends to enjoy life with", I stated. "So please understand why I do this, I do this for us", I added. I felt her pull me into a hug and rest her forehead onto mines.

"Just promise me you won't die", she mumbled. "Don't say you will try not to, say you won't die", she added. "I won't die, Medusa, I'll be sure of it", I replied.

I guess I can't really die for her. What the hell was I thinking?

I will protect Medusa, but I won't die protecting her, I will protect her from every threat, even if I have to fight Zeus myself.
