Chapter 36

Blamed

Eyes were heating up, watering, glistening and glassy as I fought the emotion and held myself together.

I found Anastasia at the corner of the spacious room and after her was the maid who had went with her and escorted her to the comfort room. Anastasia was trying to get through the large and masculine bodies gridlocking her way, she wanted to come near me, but Drugo had immediately blocked her beforehand, and before she could even take one step through.

And I was wondering if when would I become a complete deaf after all of the thundering shouts and terrible screams around me.

Should I suppose to move and do anything? Say something? Because literally, in front of them, all of them, I got tight-lipped. A taciturn young lady, squarely, closemouthed.

What else should I do? My hands were undeniably trembling, sweating cold, along with my heart's palpitations, my acts seemed so suspicious, like, I had done the deed to Victoria intentionally, though, it was quite not like that. I did intentionally pushed her, but unintentionally make her bleed out. Was not aware that she was also carrying a child. I was nervous. What I did was self-defense.

At this moment of chaos, I could not able to hold myself together. What if they would rather choose to believe her than me? It was not like they had known me like they know her. But if they really know her, they would trace the lie and fabricated words within her, if she would dare feed them with lies.

That just showed the benefits of knowing people, to also know when they lie or tell the truth.

A roaring voice from upstairs of the grand staircase had gotten me frozen on my spot. "What happened here?"

"Call the doctor!" The familiar rough with a hint of violence in Diablos' voice made the maids came rushing to get to the telephone.

It was haunting and taunting me. The fear.

When I shifted my gaze back at Victoria as she cry and tremble in fear of losing her baby. I found an unfamiliar man beside her.

"Hush, sweetheart, everything is going to be okay," ani ng hindi pamilyar na lalaki na sa tingin ko ay magka-edad lamang sila ng ama ng magkapatid na Sartori.

"D-Dad... Dad, my baby... P-Please don't let my baby die," Victoria stuttered with flushed cheeks, some tears had dried on her pretty face but as they dry, another series of tears would quickly follow.

If my mind was not mistaken, the unfamiliar man was Bloodemir's consigliere. Victoria and Alesandro's father.

Ngunit isang matigas na boses ang pumukaw ng atensyon ko, ni hindi ko ito namalayang dumating dahil sa sitwasyong ito, hindi ko na alam kung ano ang gagawin.

"You're pregnant?"

"Y-Yes! Saoirse pushed me, Damien! She intentionally pushed me when I told her that I'm carrying your child!"

That made me stiffened on my place, I could not even move a muscle, or open my mouth to speak, to defend myself when I turned my gaze at Damien who just descended the grand staircase and went straight to Victoria that was currently struggling and bleeding on the cold floor where she landed after I pushed her.
