"Monkey pancakes?!" Paige yelled softly in disbelief. "Yeah! They've got chocolate and banana's in them. They are delicious." Brian put a little butter on the skillet with a sizzle before pouring a few circles onto it. "You know I watch videos of people making art with pancakes." "How?!" Paige had so many questions, but retained everything possible. "Well, they use these little squirt bottles with food coloring and draw whatever they want onto the grill."
"You and your youtube videos," Allison said as she came around the corner. Brian smelled her shampoo and soap instantly and smiled up at her before flipping the pancakes. "Brian Quinn, are you making us breakfast?" She sat next to Paige on the stool on the other side of the counter. "Yes, you ladies deserve it." "Is there bacon?" Paige asked, jumping down from the stool and running to the fridge. She took the bacon right out and slapped it on the counter. "I love when woman know what they want!" Brian looked incredibly adorable to Allison. He wore navy blue plaid pajama pants and a grey tshirt. She couldn't help but watch in awe has Paige grabbed her stool and stood tall to lay the bacon on the skillet by the pancakes.
Their breakfast was filled with laughs and jokes as Paige was telling 'funny' knock knock jokes. Brian seemed impressed, but Allison had heard them all 100 times. Allison let them laugh and continue their jokes as she went to pick up the mail that had just slid through the slot.
Bills, bills, more bills. Her heart stopped when she saw familiar chicken scratch on the outside of the envelope, with a name she knew but not the same address they had last had. "Paige baby, if you're all done why don't you get washed up and dressed." "But mom-" "Listen to me please." Allison ignored her daughters protest and went straight to the couch to open it up. Brian stayed quiet because he could tell something was wrong, so he just picked up the kitchen and cleared their plates.
Allison's stomach was in knots as she began to read the letter in her trembling hands.
Allison, I have had many attempts of letters and calls to get in touch with you after our daughter was born. I do not blame you for holding animosity towards me for everything I have done. After these five years, I don't blame anyone but myself anymore. I've been seeking help and will continue to for I am officially in a half way house. My parents have sent me pictures of her over time, even video chatting. They wouldn't allow her in the prison unless you approved, so no need to worry there. I am sorry for all the hurt and pain I have caused, but I will have a relationship with my daughter. You know I'll be a good father. We can make it easy or we can take it the hard way, just know my parents are 100% behind me. I hope we can see eye to eye.

"Whats going on?" Brian finally got the courage to ask, seeing his girlfriend shaking and crying on the couch. "He's out." Was all she could croak out at the moment. Brian was puzzled until she handed him the paper to read for himself. "What?! This isn't right! He tried to KILL you!" He was now furious. All this time he knew the girls were safe because he was behind bars, but now he's able to roam the streets freely. "Do you have a restraining order on this asshole?"
