"I can't believe I have to choose whether I want to live with my dad or my mom." I said to Sarah as we were laying on the bridge one last time. "And they won't tell you where Eric is going?" She asked. "Nope. They said they don't want to 'influence my decision'." I said.
"I'm going to miss this." I said, tears rolling down my face. "I'm going to miss you." I leaned over to hug her.
"So where are each of them going?" She asked. "Dad to Nebraska and Mom to Louisiana." I told her. "No matter what, you will come visit me and text me daily. " She said. "I will!" "So, who are you planning to go with?" She asked. "My dad. He's always been there for me, and you know how my mom is." I answered. She gets drunk frequently.
"Hey. Don't be too bummed out. I can visit you sometimes and you can visit me sometimes." She said. "Okay." I said, drying my tears. "Sam! Sarah! Come on!" I heard Eric yell.

Once we got back, I gave my parents my answer and loaded my stuff in my dads truck. I turned around, hugged Layla, Sarah's parents, and turned to Sarah. "Open this when I text you 'ok', alright?" I told her. "Okay." She said. "Bye." I said. "Bye." She said when we hugged one last time. As I turned, I heard, "And, Samantha?" I turned around. "Love you!" She said. "Love you too!" I said and got in the back seat of the pick-up. I saw her look at the crumpled note that I gave her.
It turned out, Eric chose to go with dad, too. I waved to all of the people, along with mom, and then turned to my iPod. I turned on my favorite playlist and watched my life go behind me. I closed my eyes. This was going to be a long ride.
