Oh. My. Gosh. I am totally panicking right now! Ummm... "Madison? Is that you?" I said wearily. "Yep! Been living my life here in Kearney since I moved away from that old lone town." Her voice was higher pitched than I remembered it. "Hey!" I heard another voice behind me and turned around.
"Hey! Violet! So glad to see you again." "Yeah! I see you've met Madison." She said, and I might of heard a little bit of hatred in her voice, but I'm sure that I exaggerated it. "Violet. Ummm... I got to get going, but catch you later!" Madison said as she walked off.
I turned to Violet. "Madison and I have known each other ever since kindergarten. She has never really been a good friend of mine. She grew up in the same town I grew up in. In third grade, she moved away. Nobody ever heard from her. I figured she found new minions to boss people around with." "New, as in she had some before?" Violet asked. "Yep." "Wow. She and I haven't been on the same page since..." Her voice trailed of after that. "We better get to class." I changed the subject. "Yeah." We walked together into the school and followed each other into the same room. As we smiled at each other, the bell rang.
"Hello class. I am Mrs. Brooks, I will be your substitute for the semester. Consider me as a respected adult. You are not five, you are sixteen. Open your mathematics books to page fifty-six and do numbers one through fifty. If you finish, you can do page fifty-seven numbers one through thirty-six. I want silence while your working and only bug me if it's an emergency." Mrs. Brooks stated. Well... Okay.

At lunch, I sat down with Violet at a table. I looked up and saw Collin across from me. "It okay if we start over?" He asked me as he looked me in the eyes. "Fine. As long as whatever was going on between you and Violet goes away." "Yes ma'am. Hello. My name is Collin Garlinn. I'm seventeen years of age. And I love the country." "Hi. I'm Sam. Sixteen years young. I have no clue what I will make of here, but I do know I will go somewhere with my life." I said.
