We pulled to a stop. Cops were on there way. We snuck in and I hid behind a sculpture.

"You know where she is. Tell us." I heard a female voice. I turned my head to see Madison, Kara, and Colby staring at Sarah, who was cuffed to a chair. "No." A gun was pulled to her head. I gasped, and Sarah turned her head. I put a finger to my lips.

"Tell us." They demanded. "No." "Tell us or else." "Fine. She's closer than you think." Sarah replied. "You bet I am." I came out from behind with Eric in my back. A cop followed. "Get down!" I heard. I heard a gunshot.

I heard another gunshot. And another. I heard a scream. I heard another gunshot. Pain surged through my chest. Black dots filled my vision. I fell to the floor, a scream escaped my mouth, and I heard a yell. Everything went black.

Sarah's POV

I watched Sam come out from behind the sculpture. A cop fired at Colby but Colby dodged it. Kara yelled,"Get down!!!" I was hand cuffed to a chair, so I couldn't do anything. Madison screamed, and u saw she was shot in the hand. I heard another scream and looked at Sam who fell to the floor and looked at me, and her eyes closed. "No!!!" I screamed.

Blood covered the floor after they picked Sam up and put her on the stretcher. I didn't care when someone was arrested. I didn't care when they got the hand-cuff off. I didn't care when my dad hugged me. I just wanted to see Sam.

I watched a police officer come up to Eric and his face grew pale as he nodded. I watched him get his phone out as tears welled up in his eyes.

He came up to me. "She's, she's, she's gone, Sarah." He started crying. His sobs matched mine. I couldn't understand.

The funeral was held four days after. After the burial, I sat on the bridge. Eric came up next to me and sat down. "I thought you should see this." He said as he handed me Sam's phone. It read,

Sarah,

I know you're okay. You're tough like that. You are the best friend I've ever had. I love to death. If anything ever happens to me, try to be a sister to Eric for me. Just, Hang in there. I love you.

Love,
Samantha Evans

I wiped a tear from my cheek and leaned my head on Eric's shoulder. We watched the sun go down together, just as Sam and I would.
