Davie sighed as she opened her eyes. She woke up in her bed at the Leaky Cauldron after taking a small nap. For the past week, she hadn't slept well for even a single night and that was really noticeable now.

The bags under Davie's eyes were dark and very visible to anyone who would even shoot a small glance into her direction and she couldn't help but let out a yawn more often than usual.

The reason for her bad ability to sleep were the Fawleys; they constantly asked her to do things which took her a lot of energy. Before Davie fled the house once again to escape their annoying asses, they had put her through a worse summer holiday than she had ever had with them so far.

Every day, they had made her do chores but with their impossibly high expectations, nothing she did was right according to them and she would get punished for her mistakes.

Elijah had left as well but didn't go to the Leaky Cauldron, he had gone to a friend's house to spend the last few days of his summer holiday, before he would go into his fifth year at Hogwarts.

Davie sighed once more and with a yawn, she stood from the bed to get dressed in something else than leggings and a random shirt. Her body was sore from all the punches she had to endure this past week and she slowly stumbled towards her trunk.

She looked at herself in the round mirror on the wooden cabinet in the room. Davie stared at herself, at her brown and slightly wavy hair that she had cut shoulder length by herself this summer. At her eye-bags and the yellow bruise on her jaw, where Corban Fawley had punched her two days ago.

It wasn't possible to show up outside of her room like this. People were going to stare, and Davie hated people who stared. She would feel judged by them, while they didn't even now what was going on in her life.

Davie grabbed her concealer from the cabinet and roughly smeared some of it onto the bruise, feeling annoyed with the fact she had to cover up so nobody would ask questions.

After the bruise was covered, Davie looked at her reflection some more and put on a smile.

The next thing to be fixed with the concealer were the eye-bags and after that, Davie decided not to put some on her nose to hide the freckles that had formed over the summer. She used to cover them up all the time, but she loved them now.
