Harry was supposed to stay in the hospital wing for the rest of the weekend, and without having Harry to hang out with, Davie decided it'd be best to have a chat with professor Lupin today.
Since the beginning of the school year, the mutual last name between Davie and the professor had been bugging her, and it was time for some answers.
So now, Davie was making her way to Lupin's office. For some reason, she was very nervous to have this talk. Or actually, she was more nervous for the possible answers.
Hugging her, what Hermione called a 'grandpa sweater', closer to her body because of the cold, Davie knocked on the door of Lupin's office.
After waiting for about ten seconds, Davie was ready to turn around and leave. But at that moment the door already opened.
"Oh, hi professor, can I come in for a second please?" Davie asked, fidgeting with the rings on her fingers.
Professor Lupin looked happily surprised by Davie's sudden visit, and smiled at her. "Of course, come in Davina!"
Davie walked past Lupin and took a seat in the leather armchair. "You know," she said, "you're office is the most cozy office I've ever been in."
Lupin smiled. "That's a nice compliment, I do have to say it's indeed very cozy." He placed a steaming cup of tea in front of Davie and she gratefully wrapped her hands around the hot cup.
"So, is there something you want to talk about?" Lupin asked.
Davie nodded and she decided to just be straight forward with him. "Yeah, so, basically, you know me as Davina Douglas of course, but that's not my real name."
Remus tried to act surprised. "It isn't?"
"No." She said. "My real last name is Lupin-Black, and I wondered if you know if and how we might be related."
Lupin smiled at her and said. "Well than it's your lucky day today, because I can tell you your answer."
Of course Remus had already thought about whether or not to tell her or not, but now she had come to him with questions, he decided it would be the best to tell her the truth. After all, he too wanted his daughter back.
Davie's heart was in her throat, nervous for what he was going to tell her. She obviously already knew that her father was Sirius Black, but seeing the smile on lupin's face she definitely knew that they were somehow related too.
"I'm going to tell you the truth, but you have to promise me you'll listen and not tell anyone about this yet, ok?"
Davie quickly nodded and waited patiently for lupin to start talking.
Lupin sighed, he really wasn't sure how to tell her in the least shocking way. "Ok, so as you figured out yourself already, we're indeed related to each other."
Davie's heart made a little loop, she thought it was quite exciting. After all, she had always really liked professor Lupin. "Really?" she laughed. "But how? Are you my uncle, or like a far cousin? Do you know who my mother was?"
Lupin felt a pang of pain at the thought of Arya, Davie's mother, but he nodded. "Yes, I knew your mother. Let me explain everything to you."
"So when I went to school here, I was in the same year as your mother, same as your dad, Harry's parents and some other old friends, Peter Pettigrew, Marlene McKinnon and Mary Macdonald."
