"Shit."

He was here. Sirius Black was in the castle. Davie felt her heart wanting to start racing at the thought, but she decided to try the best of her ability to stay calm in order not to stress the others more.

Dumbledore sent the order for them all to head to the Great Hall, and that's what they did.

Shock and fear was clear on everyone's faces; everyone knew what Black was capable of doing. Davie felt an enormous amount of guilt, even though it wasn't her fault her father had done what he had done.

Amongst the crowd of Gryffindors, Davie, Harry, Ron and Hermione were the only ones not talking and whispering; they all felt an extra huge tension because they knew Black was after Davie and Harry.

While walking next to him, Davie reached down to grab Harry's hand; only to meet his hand midway, that indicating he had reached down to grab her hand at the exact same time.

They both turned their heads to look at each other while their fingers intertwined and both gave each other a squeeze.

'it's ok, don't worry.'

Davie was the first to look away again, not being able to look him in the eye while she was lying to him. Lying about her name, her identity. That was a pretty big deal, if you would ask her.

Of course Davie had considered telling her friends the truth more times than she could count, but the fear of losing them was too big and it never seemed relevant to her, until her father escaped prison.

Even though Davie was terrified, she decided she was going to tell Hermione soon. She just had to find the right moment to do so and pray Hermione would be smart and realize Davie was not the same person as her father.

All the way to the Great Hall, Davie still sometimes felt Harry's gaze on her, but she was too busy overthinking about her father that she didn't do the same thing to Harry.

After the Gryffindors had arrived in the Great Hall, still not a word spoken between the Quartet, the students from all the other houses also joined them, looking very confused.

"The teachers and I need to conduct a thorough search of the castle." Professor Dumbledore told them as Professors McGonagall and Flitwick closed all doors into the Hall to make sure nobody would be able to get in or out. "I'm afraid that, for your own safety, you will have to spend the night here. I want the Prefects to stand guard over the entrances to the Hall and I am leaving the Head Boy and Girl in charge. Any disturbance should be reported to me immediately."

Dumbledore added to Percy, who was looking immensely proud and important. "Send word with one of the ghosts."

Professor Dumbledore paused, about to leave the Hall, and said: "Oh, yes, you'll be needing .."

One casual wave of his wand and the long tables flew to the edges of the Hall and stood themselves against the walls; another wave, and the floor was covered with hundreds of squashy purple sleeping bags.

"Sleep well." said Professor Dumbledore, closing the door behind him.

The Hall immediately began to buzz excitedly; the Gryffindors were telling the rest of the school what had just happened.
