This chapter has some um...smart talk, of which I am not capable of. So please bare with me and if you like crazy about maps...god I am so sorry.

Lance's POV

"Anyways, I found where we're going."

They all look at me intently as I slam my finger on a spot I circled on the map, smirking triumphantly. I looked at each of then individually. I was genius, wasn't I? So, why weren't they applauding?

"Um...Shorty I hate to be the bringer of bad news but that's just open ocean." Ren says blatantly as they all just stare at me.

I huff a sigh, my shoulders sagging and lip going out in a pouty expression.

"Yes, Mouse, I know it's just open ocean. That's the point. We are headed east. That's all teller lady told us. So I just calculated the basic latitude and longitude of each area we have been by calculating the angle and spacing of each even number of longitude, therefore getting the general coordinates of each island we have visited. Then I took those numbers and connected them creating a general flight path. Next I looked at the general natural grouping of the islands on the east side of the map, and created a hypothesis based on the general pattern islands take when next to the equator. When taking that into accord I realized no islands that have been mapped are near the equator on the east side, which is peculiar because the hottest areas of the earth are the most likely to have volcanoes, which have a big chance of making large islands of which would be noticeable to be mapped, yet they are not. Leading me to the conclusion that the east side near the equator is where we headed. Then I took our current flight path and the coordinates for each place and multiplied-" I explained before Ren cut me off.  (AN: oh god I am so sorry that was probably so bad I apologize.)

"Ok ok ok we get it! Your smart, we aren't. Your crazy about maps and whatever language you just spoke and we are not. I'll trust you on this Shorty."

Wait...did I just do that in front of other people? I ranted for so long...they must think I'm a nerd or strange. They might not like me anymore. What did I do?

I smile hesitantly as I feel heat coming up to my cheeks, feeling slightly embarrassed. Ren had his arms (paws?) crossed, shaking his head while chuckling. Sage was warmly smiling, seemingly enjoying watching me talk about something I was so passionate about. V just looked flat out impressed.

"Alright then. If you are absolutely certain Lance, we'll follow your map and head to where you say. Ok gang, load up! We got a destination!" Sage commanded. We all nodded and dispersed, packing up our things and loading them on V's back.

Once everything was loaded up, we mounted V and he took off. I ended up being behind Sage this time. I was still kinda embarrassed about the whole map thing, but it comforted me that the others never made fun of me, they never judged me. But what made me feel so warm inside was the fact that they trusted me. They were willing to follow my map even though if I got one calculation wrong, got it off one single number the coordinates of our destination could be completely wrong. But they didn't care. They blindly followed my lead.

I never had a group of friends that ever did that. When my friends in middle school found out that I got 100's in all of my grades in Social Studies, they called me horrible names, they punched me and hit me claiming to "beat the nerd out of ya." And so I learned to intentionally get 50's and 60's for grades, that way I would be excepted.
