You'll know when to play it 😉 ^^^^

Oh boy this is one of what I call a "checkpoint moment" basically a really big thing that will either really change the course of the book, or it's just something I have wanted to write for a while. We have already passed about two or three checkpoint moments. Including when Sage came to Eladea, she met the others etc.

I actually got the idea for this chapter because of the song up there. When things were still in planning I heard that song and knew what i had to do.

I hope you guys enjoy this.

And please refrain from screaming too loud in the comments. Thank you.

Sage's POV

Renate and Viserion wont tell us what they talked about when me and Lance were out training. Something big happened or was exchanged. I know this because they would throw each other glances throughout the day. Almost like having silent conversations with each other. I only picked up on a few of them, but they were things like "are you okay?" And "don't." And "stay quiet."

I asked them about it but they just shrugged their shoulders and speed walked away. They did this until the sun set.  But when it did, we decided to do what Ren said, and start telling stories.

Ren decided to start off the tradition with a ridiculous tale of how he out ran a cheetah to get a free cup of mead. As stupid as it was, it made as all laugh and smile, faces glowing from the orange light of the fire we sat around.

"That's bogus!" Lance exclaimed. "Cheetahs run at 60 miles per hour. Rats can only run a fraction of that!"

"Oh yeah? But are cheetahs as smart as rats?" Ren asks, not meaning for it to be answered.

"They're smarter then this one." I mumble, but they all hear me, igniting a round of giggles.

"You guys are so mean!" Ren exclaimed in mock hurt. "That's it, in never telling you guys a story again." He crosses his arms and turns away dramatically.

"And that's supposed to be a punishment?" Lance questions, making us all laugh again.

"Oh come on! I just can't win, can I?" Renate said through his giggles, turning back around.

"Not against a cheetah you cant." V chimes in. We all fall silent, trying to calm ourselves.

"Hey I'm gonna go for a walk." I say after a few minutes. I stand and walk away from the light of the Campfire.

Nothing but the sound of the grass underfoot and bats chirping into the empty night reaches my ears. I breathe in the cool, crisp night air. I stop amidst the trees, closing my eyes as I bask in the silvery light from the full moon. Eladea was so much cleaner, so much more peaceful than Earth. Assuming in not still on the same world, that is.

I mean the only explanation to how I got here was that "I was chosen by the three goddesses." And who's to say there even is three goddesses. And Ren says that whoever comes here from what they call "the other side", does great things. They have an amazing destiny. If that's me, what's mine? Do I even have one? What makes me so special? Why me? And what Renate says suggests there have been others that came from my world to this one. Who are they? Do I know anyone who has crossed over? Do the people back home think I'm missing? Kidnapped? Or worse, dead? What about all the other people on the plane that brought me here. Where are they? Are they still in my old world or are they somewhere out here? In Eladea?
