I jump at the sound of V's voice.

"There, an island."

"We should land. There seems to be a market and we need supplies." Ren replies.

I nod and we start heading down. The island is relatively small, with thick forests and a busy and populated market in the middle.

We get closer to the island and I spot something.

"Who are they?" I ask. There are people in black armor taking food from stands, pushing people aside, destroying people's things and being an all around jerk.

"Those, are Tempus's knights. Or as I say, mindless brutes with power." Renate says.

I furrow my eyebrows.

Maybe this place is as bad as they make it out to be.

We circle and land in the middle of the woods. Ren jumps off of V's horns and I slide off his back.

"Maybe um maybe I should just uh...stay here...ya know, big dragon, dangerous, scary, strong, well-trained, brutal knights don't exactly uh...mix." V says nervously.

Me and Renate look at each other, then back at the navy dragon before us.

"Of course. We understand. Just be ready for a quick escape, okay?" I say.

He seems to almost sigh in relief.

"Thank you."

I nod and me and Renate head off to the market. We find a brown cloak strewn on the forest floor. I pick it up, putting it on I tell Ren to hide under it. He agrees and latches onto my waist, covered by the thick fabric.

We emerge from the forest into the clearing that the market is in. We squeeze in between two buildings and merge into the crowd. I keep my head down, not wanting to attack any unwanted attention.

One stand in particular catches my eye. Multiple weapons hang on hooks on a wall behind the seller. I walk up to it and look at the different weapons. I was about to walk away when a shine from one of the weapons makes me stop. It's a beautifully crafted sword. It has intricate carvings on the hilt, of which is a blue color with gold imprint on it. The blade itself is sleek and thin, yet sharp enough to be a deadly weapon.

The dealer notices me and comes over.

"Good day." I greet the man over the counter.

"Good afternoon ma'am, what can I do for you?"

"That sword right there, how much is it?" I ask.

"Isn't she a beauty? The best sword I've ever made. She'll come at a hefty price."

I reach into my cloak and open my hand to Renate. He gives me some gold coins and I present them to the man.

He looks at them unamused. He picks them up, examines them, and shakes his head.

My face falls noticeably and I take back the coins. I hang my head in disappointment and start to walk off.

"Wait!" The man calls to me. I stop and turn around.

He sighs.

"I...you seem like the right person for the sword. I'll take it for those coins. And I'll throw in the sheathe, no extra cost."

My face brightens and I rush back over to the stand.

"Really?!" I ask excitedly. He nods and takes the sword off the hook, taking a sheathe along the way. He raps the belt around the sword and puts it on the counter.
