Sage's POV

I never remember falling asleep. To my knowledge, I blinked and suddenly I was squinting my eyes at the colored sky of a rising sun. I try to get up, but find I am glad down by something. The past nights events catch of to me. With a sigh I lay back down on the log I resided. I put one arm under my hard as a pillow, and the other hand runs through Lance's hair. He layed next to me, still leaning on my as he rested his head on my stomach.

I watched the morning birds flew across the sky. I watched the clouds make their way to wherever they were going. I dont know how long I layed their, watching the sky. But it must have been a while, because when Lance started shifting, the sun was completely over the horizon.

Lance groaned and slowly opened his eyes, his hair a mess and even more stubble apearing on his chin since lastnight. He looked up to me, his grey eyes glinting.

"Morning green girl." He says in his gruff and deep morning voice.

"Morning sleepy head." I respond, looking down to him.

He slowly pushes himself up so he's on his elbows. He yawns, sits there for a moment and sits up all the way. I follow suit. He stretches, almost yelling as he does. I huff out an amused breath as he does. Then suddenly, I jump up. I glance at the sleeping figures of V and Ren, then at Lance.

"Well?" I say. Lance tilts his head questioningly. "Comon! Get up! We have exercises to do!" I tell him. He just motions to his leg. It looked better, but he still needed to stay off it for a little bit longer.

"Oh...yeah. Well um...I'll see you in a little bit...I guess." I say slowly, and right after I finish I take off running through the tall grass.

Stop it stop it stop it I scold myself. It's an injury, it's not that he doesnt want to spend time with you. Stop thinking like that you imbecile.

The ground was slightly wet from the morning dew. The air was misty and moist. The temperature was warm but the heavy air was cool. It dampened my face as I ran through it, making it agony and slick. The rest of the world seemed to fade away, all other thoughts and sounds fading away until all I could hear was my steady breathing, my heart beat, and the thump of my legs against the ground. The air rushed past my wet face, sending a chill down my whole body. My salty and warm sweat contrasted against the cold. The air smelled of wildflowers and pollen. The warm oxygen soothed my burning lungs and the water lingering in it moistened my dry mouth.

It felt as if time was still when I was running. It felt as if for those few moments, for just a small second in my life, everything has fallen into place. Everything was just...perfect.

At high sun we were off to the next island. Lance kept glancing into the sky as we flew, always in one spot. The spot we had gazed at the night before. I didn't need him to tell me what he was looking for. Fortunately I seemed to be the only one to notice.

It didnt take long for us to find an island. And inhabited one nonetheless. A large village sat next to a small mountain that was in the middle of the land mass. I had gave the signal to land. As we approached it, I realized this town was different from the ones before.
