(Aurora's POV)

"You excited for your first day at school?"

"A little."

"A little? It's your senior year. You're supposed to be super excited."

I rolled my eyes. "Bye mom. Love you."

"Love you too." She smiled as I opened the door.

The closer I got to the doors the more stares I got. They whispered about me being the new girl. Was I considered the new girl even though I lived here years ago? Is that how it worked?

I walked into my first class which was English. I sat in the very back, although that didn't stop people from staring.

"As all of you are aware, we have a new student today. Would you like to introduce yourself?" The teacher said.

"My name is Aurora. I'm technically not new. I lived here years ago, moved away, and just moved back with my family." I said awkwardly.

"Are you happy to have moved back?" The teacher asked.

"I am." I nodded.

I had two more classes like that until it was lunchtime. The teachers had me introduce myself and I did.....awkwardly like the first time I did it.

I got my lunch tray and was looking for a place to sit when a girl touched my arm.

"Aurora, right?"

I nodded.

"I'm Maya." She said like it explained why she was touching me.

I gave her look and she laughed. "Your brother told me to save you a seat."

That's when it clicked.

"The twins. You're their sister." I said.

"Don't remind me." She laughed. "When Daniel came over the other day he asked if I'd save you a seat. Said if I didn't you'd eat alone."

"Thanks." I said, following her over to her table.

She was sitting with one other girl.

"Aurora this is Ellie. Ellie this is Aurora."

"Nice to meet you." Ellie smiled.

"You too."

We made small talk and got to know each other pretty well. We were talking about movies when the doors opened and the football team came barreling in.

One guy walking in the front seemed to have the attention of every girl there. Especially Ellie.

He was very handsome. Dark blond hair, olive tone skin, tall, and muscular. He was your stereotypical looking jock.

"There's your man." Maya teased her.

"That your boyfriend?" I asked Ellie.

"She wishes." Maya mumbled.

"That's Lucas. Football and academic star of the school He's 5'8 and 180 pounds of handsomeness." Ellie explained in a dreamy tone.

"Second place in academic actually." Maya corrected her.

"Right." Ellie said rolling her eyes.

"You the first?" I asked Maya.

She died laughing. "No way. He is." She said pointing towards the door as it opened again.

That's when my heart stopped.

His fair skin, jet black hair, jawline sharp enough to cut glass, and high cheekbones gave him away. If Ellie said Lucas was 5'8 then he had to be about 6'0.
