(Asa's POV)

The sound of my name coming from her lips....it's like it breathed life into me.

"Did I wake you?" I asked, moving to sit on the edge of my bed.

"No, I was doing some homework. I'm terrible at math. How'd you get my number?"

"Saw Daniel today. He put it in my phone."

"So you decided to call me?"

"I uh....didn't really know I was going to. It just happened. Do you want me to go?"

"No," She said, her voice laced with a bit of desperation. "don't....go. I'm glad you called."

"You are?"

"Yeah." She spoke softly. "How...How are you?"

"Good. How are you?"

"I'm good."

"Happy to be back?"

"Haven't decided yet." She said honestly.

We spoke a few minutes more before I let her go to finish her homework.

"Asa?" She said as I went to hang up.

"Yeah?"

"I.....I miss you." She said and then quickly hung up before I could reply.

I sighed. "I miss you too."

(Aurora's POV)

I looked around the cafeteria for him, but I didn't see him.

When he called me a few nights ago, I was surprised and.....thankful. I told him that I missed him and, fearing that he wouldn't feel the same, I hung up quickly.

"Who are you looking for?" Ellie asked.

"No one. I was just looking." I lied.

"Well don't be panicked, but Lucas is coming this way." Maya whispered.

"What?!" Ellie gasped.

Sure enough, seconds later Lucas and a few of his friends approached our table.

"Hey Maya." He smiled.

"Hey Lucas. What brings you to our table?"

"Just wondering if we could sit with you three lovely ladies today." He said, eyeing me.

"Sure." Maya nodded.

We scooted over so that he and his friends could sit down. Lucas sat across from me and smiled.

"I'm Lucas. You're Aurora, right?" He asked.

"That's me." I nodded.

"How are you liking it here?"

"It's good. Not much has changed since I left when I was little."

"Any of your old friends go here?"

He couldn't have asked that a more perfect time. As soon as he asked, Asa came through the door.

Just seeing him made me lose all train of thought. It's always been that way. Seeing him, speaking to him, or just being around him did all sorts of things to me. Always had.

"Earth to Aurora." Maya said waving her hand in my face.

"Sorry." I said, looking back at Lucas. "I'm a bit antisocial so I didn't have very many friends when I lived here before."
