(Aurora's POV)
I sat at the lunch table with the others, but I wasn't listening to them. I was, once again, looking for him.
It's been three days since I spent the night with him. I woke up that morning and found that we weren't holding hands. We'd let go sometime during the night. We weren't holding hands. He was holding me.....well spooning me is more accurate I guess. His chest was against my back, one arm was my pillow, the other arm was around my waist, and our legs were tangled together.
Since that day, we've only texted. Ellie and the others are always wanting to go somewhere or do something after school. Telling them no only causes them to complain and beg me until I say yes.
"Are we going to watch the movie or play games?"
"Both?"
"I hear that there's a water slide this year." Lucas said.
Today the school is having a 'funday'. Apparently the school has one or two throughout the year. They set up the gym for a movie and set up the little field outside the gym for games and such.
"We're so going down the water slide." Maya smiled.
"You in?" Ellie asked, elbowing me slightly.
"Maybe." I smiled.
Sure enough, after lunch they went to the water slide first. I didn't really want to go down it, but I did anyway. The guys went down about six times before moving on to some of the games.
Being show offs and all, they obviously had to take off their wet shirts. Ellie about died when Lucas took off his. I wasn't so impressed.
Maybe because I'd seen Asa with no shirt on.
They were so busy ogling Lucas and the others that they didn't notice me walk off.
Where did I go?
To Asa.
He was leaning against the wall in the shade.
"Come on." I said, grabbing his hand.
"Where are we going?"
"To have fun."
"Ogling them with their shirts off isn't fun?" He asked, nodding his head at Lucas.
"I'd rather ogle you." I said, making him smile.
"Not afraid people or your friends will gossip about you?"
"Why would they do that?"
"You're talking to the recluse, remember?"
"I'd rather talk to you than them. Now come on. Let's go."
We managed to get in line for the water slide before anyone noticed us together. Ellie and Lucas noticed first out of my friends. Ellie only noticed because she was watching Lucas. Once they noticed, everyone else did too.
"And so it begins." Asa whispered.
"Are your stitches bandaged?" I asked, ignoring everyone around us.
"No, but they are waterproof."
"Good."
I was going to go before him, but, at the last second, he sat behind me and put his hands on my waist. We slid down together and landed in the small pool at the bottom.
"Want to go again?" I asked, smiling from ear-to-ear.
All he did was grin.
We went down two more times before stopping. That's when I noticed that his black t-shirt was sticking to him like a second skin. You could see the outline of almost every muscle.
