With Leaf's declaration and not to mention her powers of persuasion, she managed to rope Red into this case of Unusual Thief of Viridian which thrilled her to the core. Her companion though wasn't much excited about it but he also gave up complaining on it. Instead he decided to give his cooperation to the case while at the back of his mind wondered how did she managed to persuade him in the first place.

"Do you have anything to go on with?" Red asked. They both were sitting opposite to each other in the Pokécenter Cafeteria and gulping down their dinner while also discussing how they would go with the investigation.

"No clue. That's the first thing we will be doing tomorrow." Leaf replied after chewing down the food in her mouth.

Bulbasaur, Charmander and Sprearow were having their own Pokémon food although Bulbasaur was insanely curious on about what the humans eat and why is it different from them. He was lacking confidence to ask Leaf about it and definitely wasn't getting any support from the other two Pokémon who seemed content with what they were given to eat.

The Grass-type is currently in deep need of an ally in this subject.

"Should have guessed that." Red sighed and Leaf took definite offense to that. That was clear by her facial expressions.

"Hey! You don't have to be that mean smarty pants." She huffed crossing her arms after taking another bite of her meal.

"I am no smarty pants. Instead I was stating the obvious." Red shrugged currently not minding her offense taking. He already has been roped into this so she needs to put up with his whines.

"Oh gosh Red! Learn to cooperate and enjoy the thrill of investigating a case." Leaf lightly banged her hands on the table, taking care of not wanting to draw some attention of others.

"You are making a big fuss about it. It can be a stray wild Pokémon doing petty pranks." Red replied with a bored gaze on his food as he leaned his chin on his palm.

"That can be a possibility too." Leaf muttered suddenly deep in thought and Red stared with an incredulous look.

"You actually took my guess seriously?"

"Well duh I did." Leaf replied with an 'isn't it obvious kind of gaze' at him. "Have faith in your brains too Red. The thief being a wild Pokémon isn't any far fetched possibility. They do follow the basic instinct to survive just like us humans."

Bulbasaur's ears had perked up on the possibility of the food thief being a Pokémon and now he wanted to meet them in order to ask about what is the taste of human foods. Charmander and Spearow cluelessly stared at Bulbasaur.

"Fine I get it." Red took note of Leaf's excitement in regarding to this case however weird it may be and so finally agreed to cooperate with her on this wholeheartedly. Of all things, he didn't liked seeing his friends disheartened.
"Still we will be going for the gym first thing tomorrow if alright with you."

"I see no problem in going to the gym before looking for clues." Leaf replied taking a sip of water. "I also want to have a gym battle for the gym badge."

"You too aiming for Pokémon League?" Red asked, suddenly showing avid interest in the topic. Leaf took note of the glimmer in his eyes and couldn't help but give a soft smile.

"Its not like i am pursuing the League or anything like that." Now it was Leaf who got a bit solemn resting her chin on her palm. "I just wanted to get out of that silly island without a name and explore the vast world. The gyms are just a way to get oneself stronger right?"

"If you put it that way you are not wrong there." Red replied with an understanding nod. "And I like your way of thinking. Its alright if you haven't decided what you want to do. You have a vast lane of opportunities in front of you to chose from once you are out facing the world."
