In the western side of Viridian City was a big clearing where there were frequent appearances of various kinds of Pokémon. One had to cross a line of thick trees to get here. There were many trainers gathered in the said route, some training their Pokémon while some of them were busy adding new members to their teams.

Blue stood at one side of the route. He had came here after arriving at Viridan City. It did take some time to reach Viridan from Pallet Town. Healing up his Squirtle in the Pokécenter, he exited and made up his mind to visit this route to train. This route is also said to be the way which lead to the Indigo Pokémon League.

"I'm going to get stronger than him." Blue said to himself. He was still feeling down from the loss he had. After that he had battled some trainers in the particular route and managed to beat all of them with his Squirtle. None of the trainers here were able to hold a candle to him. He wanted to train a little more before heading for the next city.

Not much far from dived down a small, plump-hooded avian Pokémon with a cream-colored face and primarily brown fur. She had narrow brown eyes and her beak and talons were of grayish-pink color. The Pokémon was scanning around the Route for meals and hadn't noticed Blue nearby.

"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A common sight in forests and woods. It flaps it wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand."

Keeping his Pokédex aside after reading the data of Pidgey, Blue took out Squirtle's pokéball and enlarged it. He waited for a few moments before calling out his starter in the open which alerted the Pidgey.

She turned around to see a trainer with a Squirtle and narrowed her eyes. Flapping her wings, she lifted herself off the ground and got ready for the battle.

Leaf paid the taxi driver once she set foot on Pallet Town and thanked the driver, The driver went on his way, leaving Leaf to her devices.

She began exploring what the town had to offer except that there was a large laboratory in the center of the town which she has to visit in order to receive her starter Pokémon and the Pokédex, Professor Oak's latest invention which records data on Pokémon encountere by the owner. It is what you call a Pokémon Encyclopedia.

The town had least population and was quite peaceful then compared the metropolis Vermilion where her flight had landed. Pallet Town greatly resembled her own town from the Sevii Islands, a group of seven islands scattered in the ocean.

"I like this town....maybe I should reside in here." Leaf mumbled to herself. "Not a bad idea huh...have to ask Mom about it though."

Mumbling to herself, she found herself right in front of the laboratory of Professor Samuel Oak. Taking a deep breath and preparing herself, she walked up and pushed the door open with a BANG!

"What in the name of Mew!?" Professor Oak was startled and quickly got up from his computer desk. There was no one else in the labs as some of aides were in the backyard feeding the Pokémon and noting down observation while two other aides had been sent somewhere.

"I am sorry." Leaf said with embarrassment creeping up on her face. "Guess I was too much excited."

"And who might you be?" Professor Oak asked one he took note of Leaf. He also checked the door to see whether any damage was done or not. To his relief, the door was too strong to out of commission this soon.

"I am Leaf Verde from Sevii Island number 2." Leaf responded before something clicked in. "Damn! Why don't we have names for our island?'

"I wanted to question that too but lets get to the main topic." Professor Oak said and moved towards the table where a single pokéball and a Pokédex was kept. Leaf followed and then stopped in front of table and wondered what Pokémon was inside the pokéball.
