"A Kangaskhan in Viridian Forest you say?" Professor Oak spoke up from the other end of the Video Caller, scratching his chin in deep thought.

"Yeah I found it strange too which is why I thought to give you a call about it." Blue responded from his end. "I thought they were mostly found in the Safari Zone and climates similar to there."

Currently the young Oak was seated in front of the Video Caller in Cerulean City Pokécenter. He had already won his badge from Misty, the Water-type Gym Leader giving him his second badge. On his belt rested three pokéballs indicating that he has three Pokémon in his arsenal at the moment.

"It indeed is odd. It was responsible of you to notify me about this. Well done Blue." Professor Oak complimented his grandson. He always had high hopes of him and seeing him succeeded made him proud as a grandfather. "How is your journey and badge collection coming along?"

"You don't have to worry about that gramps." Blue's cockiness came back when the serious matter was dealt with. "I already have two badges in my pocket."

"I get it." Professor Oak let out a sigh when his grandson was back to his cocky self. Even if Blue grows up to be a successful man or even the Champion of Kanto, little things about him will never change. "Give a call to Daisy before you go."

"Sure old timer. Smell ya later." Blue cut off the connection and proceeded to give a call to his elder sister, catching her up to what he has been doing up until now.

After attending to his necessary calls, Blue stepped out of the Cerulean City Pokécenter, having an internal debate on whether to stay here a bit longer and see what this city, especially the North part of Cerulean has to offer or leave for his next badge destination.

He chose the former option of staying in the city, thinking of doing a bit more of exploration and some training while at it. His exploration brought in front of a makeshift stadium while a banner stating Nugget Tournament was hanging.

'A tournament?' Blue took a look around to see a line of trainers registering themselves for it. The minimum requirement for participating in this tournament was having three Pokémon in one's arsenal.

Asking around he found that aside from the Nugget being the winner's prize, a pair of tickets for S.S. Anne, a famous cruise ship is also handed out as a prize. The only fact that wasn't clear to Blue was that who is organizing this tournament. Well it didn't matter much to him since he is getting a chance for a good training.

Which trainer in their right mind would miss such a chance.

The Guide had left Red and Leaf to their devices on the second floor of the museum and had headed downstairs when he received an urgent call from the staff. Assuring the two trainers to not to worry, the Guide left in a hurry.

The two trainers however were more engrossed by the artifact securely kept in front of them. Inside the thick glass case rested an icy blue crystal with the center of it constantly glowing.

"Is it just me or the temperature here is low than the other floors?" Red muttered, rubbing his hands to keep them warm. He spared a worried glance at Leaf who was also rubbing her arms to keep herself warm.

"The Guide did say that this artifact lowers the temperature  of its surroundings." Leaf reminded.

The two trainers moved a bit more closer to observe the crystal closely when out of the blue, Red grabbed Leaf by the elbow and pulled her aside, narrowly dodging few stray blades of winds. Pikachu jumped out of his partner's shoulder, coating his tail in steel and deflecting away the incoming attack.
