Chapter Ten

Tam's vision began to blur with panic. Another scream came from above them. Tam swiveled around to see Fitz, Biana, Sophie and Glimmer all looking incredibly panicked. With all of his might Tam sent a spear of shadowflux up the ceiling of the cave. Rocks smashed and Glimmer dived out of the way just as a boulder plummeted downwards. Ash cover half of Tam's face but he didn't bother to wipe it off. Carefully he climbed the rubble. Linh was collapsed on the ground. A cloaked figure turned towards them. The cloaked figure was covered in blood but didn't appear hurt. They smiled and pulled out a leaping crystal. The cloaked figure lept away before they could speak a word. Tam rushed over to Linh and propped her head up on the wall. Linh was ghostly pale and was breathing shallow breaths of air.

Tam looked at the other. "We have to get her too Livvy." Said Tam. "Or Elwin." said Biana. Fitz carefully knelt by Linh and picked her up. Her head lolled uselessly. Glimmer bit her lip. 

Sophie grabbed onto Fitz's arm and Tam's hand. Biana hesitated for a second but grabbed Fitz's hand and Glimmer took Tam's. Sophie broke out into a run and the void cracked open. Sophie thought of the hospital wing in Foxfire and the six of them crashed on the ground. Elwin peered up from his papers. He sighed.

"You really are giving me some gray hairs Sophie." said Elwin. Then he approached Linh and took her from Fitz's arms. His face paled as he lay her on a cot. Sophie, Biana, Tam, Fitz and, Glimmer sat down as Elwin began to treat Linh.

Eventually her eye's fluttered open. She looked around frantically then slowly calmed down. Until she saw something hanging around Glimmers neck. 

Linh sucked in a breath choking for air. Her eye's widened in shock as the world went black around her. Because hanging around Glimmers neck was and 𝒜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝓎𝓈𝓉 necklace, identical to Nelie's.
