Unfaithful

Chapter 7

A:: Meher do you think you want to give our relationship a chance? Meher do you think you would want to marry me?
M:: Ayaan I really like you and I have no problem with arranged marriage but this came like a shock to me, do I have to answer the question now?
A:: no no no! Please don't stress yourself, I honestly didn't want to make you feel stressed I just felt it would only be right that I tell you everything before hand. This question should not affect our friendship and even your answer shouldn't change anything. I wouldn't want to loose you as a friend.
M:: Ayaan I'll see you when I come there
A:: yes and you take care, please don't stress yourself over this.
M:: yea no worries bye
That night Meher stormed at her mom and asked why were they hiding everything they could just say it, she never said no to arrange marriage but then her family made her understand that they didn't want her to feel awkward or uncomfortable being with Ayaan or meeting his parents. When they asked what she thinks about Ayaan she said
M:: mommy He is a nice guy, ofcourse no doubt very good looking charming and everything you can think of and as much as I know him he is a gentleman and a good man. It's just that I didn't think of him as my potential groom so I'm feeling lil awkward. But give me sometime let me also get a chance to see how he lives how his parents are as he got a chance to see us. I'm not saying he is not nice but I need to be sure that I can live with him adjusting to his life style or not, I need to know how my in laws will be because family means everything to me.
Laili:: beta that's the reason we didn't say anything coz we wanted you to see them get to know them and decide, but I'm also happy you got to know from Ayaan, at least it shows he genuinely cares for you.
After two days they all reach India, obviously a wedding house is always busy they all started preparations right away. Ayaan made sure he came to see them and Laili Bano was already imagining Ayaan wearing white sherwani and coming to marry her daughter but ofcourse he was wearing a white shirt and a simple blue jeans for now. It was like a mad house when he came to see them and ofcourse he didn't get a chance to talk to Meher, Ayaan very smartly asked her what was she doing next day in front of her mom
A:: so Aunty how's the preparation going on, if you need any help please feel free to let me know
Laili:: awwww how sweet!!! No no beta I'm happy you came I want the kids to enjoy have fun, party, rest we will manage, this is the time you all should enjoy
A:: wow Aunty I must say you are such a considerate mom that's so sweet of you, Aunty can I ask you something
Laili:: ofcourse
A:: Aunty are you busy tomorrow I mean do you need to stay here for few hours
Laili:: hmmm I mean I do have lot of work but why?
A:: oh I was thinking I'll take you out for sometime and show you around, show you my place may be watch some horror movie together, you know just some break from all the work and everything
Laili:: noway horror movie and me no chance, I love romantic movie, and I was born and brought up in Mumbai so I have seen and known places even you don't know, but you know what, you can take Meher with you we don't need her tomorrow and she is one person who hardly knows India also she is the one who looooves horror movie so why don't you do me a favor and take Meher coz she always tells me to take her around and I always get so busy when I come here that I don't get time to show her around

Meher just looked at her mother that why she always puts her in such position, even though she does want to spend time with him but she is feeling awkward
A:: but Aunty Meher doesn't watch horror movies with her eyes open she hides and peeks through and hardly watches anything
Laili:: hahahaha she watches romantic movie also like that
They both laughed and Laili gets an angry look from her and they both shuts their mouth
M:: mommy Ayaan is asking you to go with him why are you telling him to take me? And also you are his fan and I'm sure he would love to spend time with his fan so both celebrity and fan can bond well.
Laili:: oh sorry Ayaan I would love to go with you in fact I was dying for this day to come in my life but unfortunately I have so much of work that for me tomorrow will not be possible.
A:: oh no (very dramatic) now what am I going to do I had planned everything just for you and now I will be all alone and even my parents aren't coming till the wedding function starts so I'll be so lonely and missing my family
Laili:: (very dramatic) awwww Ayaan so sorry beta but ofcourse I can't force my daughter you know some people just doesn't understand how it feels to be alone and when your family is not around. Look at me glowing as I'm here with my parents but poor you all alone.
Meher rolled her eyes seeing the drama she stood there with her hands on her hips nodding her head.
M:: enough guys!! Stop your melodrama... Ayaan I can understand my mom's overacting coz she is not an actor on top of that she is always so melodramatic but since when you started doing such bad acting?
A:: what bad acting?
M:: please stop that drama now, over acting doesn't suit you. Fine I'll come with you tomorrow but I'm not watching horror movie. I like action movies better, X-men series even better I can watch it any time any day and also I want all street food without having to go out while I'm watching the movie and don't forget you did promise me to treat me with all kind of junk food.
Ayaan smiled as well as Laili Bano
A:: all I wanted was my friend back
He looked at Meher assuring her that he is her friend before anything else. Everything else doesn't matter as long as she remembers she is his friend first.
As they were talking Meher's very very dramatic Nani came and saw Ayaan in her house.
Nani:: Lailiiiiiii!!!! (She screamed)
She acted as if she is going to faint and Laili running towards her
Nani:: Laili Ayaan Khan is in the house? Oh my favorite hero!!! Love of my life!!
Ayaan was shocked and he didn't know how to react and again Meher facepalmed herself, she went to her Nani rolling her eyes
M:: Nani should I call Nana?
Nani:: don't be a fool!! Nana has no say on what I choose to do in life, he already accepted Ayaan as my boyfriend, in fact I have few more boyfriends like Tiger Shroff, Ranbir Kapoor and....
Laili:: ok ok Maa how about you meet Ayaan?
(Ayaan was already blushing)
Nani:: oh my God look at you!!! You are better than TV your eyes are beautiful and look at your skin (she pulls his cheek)
Laili:: Maa Maa that's it that's it!!! Ayaan this is my Maa but more than my Maa she is my daughter now.
Ayaan:: Assalamualaikum Nani!!
Nani:: WalaikumAssalam Ayaan! How are you? When are you doing your new show I'm waiting
A:: Nani you don't have to wait for my show at least for sometime coz I'll be coming for the wedding and may be we can do some dance together
Nani:: awww Mera Bachcha how sweet you are!!
So Ayaan had a very interesting meeting with the family so he was leaving and Meher came out to say bye to him
A:: you definitely have a very interesting family but they are sweet. I'm sure you don't need anything for entertainment
M:: that's true when we are together we don't need anything you will see some of my father's side family too whoever is here they are also nothing less than my mom's side but they mean no harm though.
A:: I'm sure they don't and it actually keeps you happy when people are so open minded and full of life
M:: that's true.
A:: so I'll pick you up around 6 tomorrow?
M:: yea sure
Next Day
Ayaan came to pick up Meher, she was wearing a nice cotton white kurta, left her hair loose and very minimum make up. His house wasn't far from her place it was a short drive, he lived in a two storied house which he recently bought, it was neatly decorated very simple but classy, he had a nice garden, his bedroom has a big balcony and the view is beautiful. That was very impressive and then he showed her all the awards all his old photo album. He made sure he got a lot of desi junk food like pani puri very oily samosa, pao bhaji and few other things and Meher was so excited to see all that and she happily tried everything. Ayaan was happy to see Meher wasn't upset anymore she was just being herself. Then Ayaan said so are we ready for a movie and he turned on the tv and on one of the channels they were playing Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK)
Meher:: hey hold on isn't this the Shahrukh Khan movie?
A:: yes
M:: oh yes I remember I didn't watch the whole movie but I love the songs, can we watch this movie?
A:: sure we can but it's already half way
M:: yea I watch till here so I can start from where I stopped
A:: you are something, thank God you are cute or else I would never listen to you
M:: so you think I'm cute?
A:: I mean yea.. little bit... I mean you are okay
M:: ok great!! You know I don't like being cute I like being classy.
A:: seriously woman?! Really you and your whole family needs to be in TV industry...
M:: ufff stop talking now let's watch the movie. It gets interesting after this
A:: I thought you said you didn't watch the movie
M:: yea I didn't watch it properly I missed some scenes
A:: and you still want to watch this stupid movie?
M:: it's not stupid it's a very practical movie
A:: really?
M:: Ayaan just watch now we can discuss later
So they actually watched the rest of the one hour of the movie
A:: what bull crap, I never liked it
M:: I liked it coz it's practical
A:: what's so practical?
M:: so are you trying to say extra marital does not happen in real life?
A:: no ofcourse it does, but I just find this movie so stupid. It's like those two people who has flaws they are the one going and doing the wrong things again. Don't you think it would be more practical to show Preeti or Abhishek to do something wrong and that would show no one is perfect
M:: Ayaan those two characters didn't have any insecurities that's why they didn't need anything else to fulfill their life or desire. They are not perfect too but they didn't have too many insecurities like Shahrukh and Rani. They always assumed that their partners are always demeaning them
A:/ ofcourse not their partners loved them
M:: exactly but if you look from their perspective they felt less in front of their partners where as when Rani and Shahrukh meets they could relate to each other because they had something in common they both had something missing which they both felt was a flaw and then they felt they are the best match for each other and they understood each other where as in reality they are the ones who didn't understand their partners, they felt they are being sympathized but not loved. But this is all their assumptions their perception, Ayaan insecurity can make you do all the wrong things.
A:: Meher how do you do this?
M:: do what?
A:: you know you should be a psychology teacher or a psychologist or life counselor, may be a philosopher.
M:: why?
A:: because the way you see life is so unique but again it's simple. You just have the answer right away.
M:: I don't know why you always say that, I think I just see life in a simple way instead of going deep and solving it I just start solving the problem before getting into it. I just don't want to drown myself in a problem and then not know how to come out of it.
A:: it will take me life time to understand your philosophy
M:: it's not philosophy they are just life hacks
A:: would you like to share your life hacks with me for the rest of your life?
