Unfaithful

Chapter 23

Ayaan had made up his mind he will prove his love for Meher and he will do anything to get her trust back, he will wait for her to forgive him and come back to him and if she doesn't come back he will accept it as his fate and his punishment for cheating on her and hurting her in all the ways he did.
Ayaan is not going to give up so easily and also he knows he loves Meher and Meher alone, she matters the most even if she was not pregnant because it her that he loves. He made sure he texted her everyday to check on her, she replied to him in one word or one sentence that she is fine. She avoided his phone calls, though, maybe because she didn't want to talk to him but never asked him to stop calling; every time he called, he left voice messages, and all day, Meher would just listen to his messages.
Three days after his argument with Simi he got a call from his producer of the show that he was working. He went to meet him and the creative team was there too, they informed him that there will be a twist in the story and his character will die, basically giving him two weeks notice that he will not be a part of the show.
Instead of getting angry he thanked the producer for giving him the opportunity to work with him. He came out of the office with a big smile.
He told himself that everything has a reason and everything happens for a reason. How can he forget what Meher told him and what she believes in. He came home and called his mom, he told her that his karma has started biting him, he is losing his job now, but he is not upset because he knows it's time for punishment. His mom told him when someone asks for forgiveness from his heart and soul then God doesn't punish them He forgives them and she feels very sure that something good is coming his way, something better.
Meher has been keeping herself away from social media as she doesn't want to see anything that can make her feel bad, she wants to concentrate on her baby and her health.
Ayaan without any complaints kept shooting for the rest of his show, another few days went by and suddenly a news broke out, sources unknown that Ayaan is getting divorced, his wife is leaving him for his infidelity, also the media said Ayaan made his girlfriend abort her baby.
Ayaan knew right away who was doing all this but he didn't say anything, he felt it was his fault that he gave hope to Simi so if she is doing something then it's out of anger, but he was happy that now he was sure Simi was not the right person for him, it was always Meher. He cursed himself for not realizing this, then this day would never come.
Meher had no clue about what was happening for few days even Arshi didn't tell her anything neither Ayaan tried saying anything to Meher, her family doesn't talk about him as she said she doesn't want to hear anything and neither wants anyone to talk bad about him because she won't tolerate that either. But as she was getting tagged by way too many people even the news portals she somehow found out what was happening. She even found out that Ayaan is being removed from his show and people are being influenced for not taking him for any project. Some news portal were trying to reach her too but she did not respond. Atlast she thought of calling Ayaan to ask what actually happened, it was around 11pm in India Ayaan was home alone, he was tired, exhausted. He took his shower and came to his closet to get his night suit but he saw one of Meher's dupatta and he just wrapped that on him without any shirt and just having it around him he got emotional his eyes were teary and before he could get hold of him his phone rang and when he saw who is calling he couldn't stop his tears and it was not because he was sad but it was tears of joy. He almost dropped the phone out of happiness but he controlled his fumbling and said hello and Meher looked at him, she squinted and looked for few seconds and he was smiling like a fool, like a hopeless lover but his tears were rolling down.
M:: what are you doing with my dupatta and why are you crying?
For few seconds he just couldn't talk he couldn't believe it was actually Meher talking to him, he was lost he was mesmerized and ofcourse anyone would say he was smitten by her love.
M:: Ayaan! Ayaaaaaaan!!!
A:: yes.... yes yes Jaan..
M:: I asked you something
A:: yes
M:: what? Answer me
A:: yes
M:: Ayaan 😡
A:: yes
M:: Ayaan (she said it angrily now)
A:: yes yes Sweetie yes tell me
M:: no you tell me
A:: what?
M:: why are you naked and why are you wearing my dupatta and why are you crying?
A:: actually... I mean ... hmmmm (he scratched his head feeling little shy and not knowing what to say) no I'm not naked I still have my towel on and I have this dupatta
M:: exactly what are you doing with my stuff?
A:: hmmm nothing just wearing it,it's so nice and soft
M:: by the way that's my favorite dupatta and I was looking for it, I remember putting it in my suitcase but how do you have it?
(Ayaan with that puppy face he said)
A:: I took it out coz you wore it all the time at home and I wanted to keep it with me
M:: so now you started stealing my things? But why are you crying?
A:: me crying? No!! (Trying to wipe his cheeks without making it obvious)
M:: it's okay to cry Ayaan.... it's okay to show pain
A:: but I'm not in pain now, all my pain washed away when you called.
M:: stop being cheesy, now tell me something what's happening?
A:: meaning?
M:: Ayaan everyday you leave voice messages and you text me but why didn't you tell me about your show or anything?
A:: you listen to my voice messages? (Suddenly he felt so happy knowing she listens to his messages)
M:: (irritated) why wouldn't I? I listen to it whole day (suddenly she just face palmed herself mentally)
A:: what you listen to it whole day?
M:: no no... hmmm I mean I listen to all of them because you might have something important to say (no she was trying to cover up) anyway I'm serious why didn't you tell me anything?
A:: there's nothing to say, as you always say whatever happens, happens for good.
M:: some stupid media people were trying to reach me, some of them dmed me about you
A:: what am I going to say? I know for a fact I cheated you but then again I know I'm not a womanizer. People can say anything I don't care all I care is what you think about me. I'm not going to ask you to forgive me coz I know you will do it only when I will earn it. I'm not bothered and I don't care about the show. Remember you said whatever is written I will get it because no one can change what Allah has in store for me. I know I should've listened to all your life hacks before then this day would never come. But in a way good I learned my lesson hard way at least now I value the right thing the right feeling and the right person.
M:: when's your last day of shooting?
A:: two more weeks, and by then you will be 8 months. So does he still kick you, I mean I'm sure he does but do you see his feet or something like the videos they show
M:: he moves a lot now my tummy's shape changes but I still didn't see his feet or anything sticking out. May be in two weeks . So what's your plan after two weeks? Do you have any new project
A:: yes
M:: that's good what is it
A:: project America
M:: what?
A:: what, what? Once I'm done with the shooting then I'll go to Delhi for two days see Ammi Abbu and then come to America and before you freak out don't worry I'll stay in my sister's place and I'll come to see you only once a day and come back to my sister's place once you go to sleep.
M:: what?
A:: no no no don't try to change my schedule. Meher please don't tell me that you won't see me. Please
M:: okay now go put some clothes on and go to sleep
A:: Meher thank you
M:: why?
A:: for everything, for calling for talking, for the fact that you came to my life. I love you my love
M:: okay I gotta go. Be careful good night
A:: okay fine
M:: Ayaan
A:: yes love...
M:: I know I shouldn't ask this but is it true you made her abort her baby
A:: no that's not true at all. In fact I didn't even know she was pregnant till she aborted the baby
M:: so she was pregnant... I don't want to talk to you anymore
A:: jaan please listen... please....
M:: Ayaan I'm not saying I don't believe you, but as a wife knowing that somebody else was pregnant with your husband's child will take time to digest.
A:: Meher please, don't do this, don't stop talking to me. I'm sorry I didn't want to lie to you. I know I cheated you and there's no way I can change it and I can't even change the fact that few months back something like this happened and I was not aware of it.
M:: Ayaan it doesn't matter whether you were aware or not but do you realize how hard it is for me to accept that when I just got pregnant my husband got somebody else pregnant? (She started tearing up)
A:: okay okay you don't have to talk but please don't cry I beg you please. I know I made you cry enough but I don't want you to cry anymore please sweetheart. Okay? Okay jaan please don't cry, you can punish me but don't punish yourself. You can hang up I won't stop you but promise me you won't cry.
(Meher couldn't stop her tears she hated him now she wanted to beat him up so bad.)
M:: if you were in front of me then I would've slapped you left and right... I .... I.... I would.... (frustrated not knowing how to express)
A:: you would beat me to pulps?
M:: no!!! I would beat the shit out of you
