Well, my dear, beloved readers, I know it took me longer than I expected to write another chapter. But I finished my chapter, and thanks to my lovely beta reader amys99999 you had done an amazing job as always, so a big thank you to you :) Please leave any comments after reading the chapter, and I would be so thrilled and happy about it.

Time stopped for Logan in that one moment when he took the call with a shaky hand.

"Mr. Huntzberger, I hope I didn't disturb you. I assume you're still in Vienna, right?" The FBI agent asked. He knew his news was disturbing and could only hope he didn't upset Logan too much.

"Agent Delany, don't worry, you didn't disturb me. Is there any good news regarding the case? I am particularly curious if you found Du Grey yet?" Logan asked, trying not to let his fear mixed with anger get the upper hand. Du Grey wasn't worthy of abusing Agent Delany and his team. Logan made a conscious effort to remind himself they were giving their best to find this asshole.

"Unfortunately, we haven't any news. But we're in touch with all the states and are searching. We have also sent the information that there is a warrant out for Tristan DuGrey's arrest to all European police stations and the Interpol, British Secret Service if he's in any European cities.

I am so sorry that we cannot give you better news. It's a kind of a miracle that you were the one who found Norah. We would never have called off the search if it had been up to me. I can't even imagine how bad it was for you and Rory back then. There was hardly a day when I didn't think about this case," he explained.

Agent Delany stopped for a moment and continued the next, "Since you added all this new information, I felt the light was finally coming into darkness. Believe me, when I tell you, I have a personal connection to this case.

I am so glad we were allowed to reopen the case. I can tell you that we know that neither Tristan's ex-wife, Lucy Sanderson, nor their children Jason, Sarah, Max, and Nicole knew of their father/ex-husband's dark past and whereabouts when we were asking them.

They were genuinely shocked and disgusted. My two best men Flannigan and Johnston, recently paid a visit to ask Tristan's parents if they knew anything. Let's see what they have to say when they're coming back to the office."

Logan let out a sigh, but a small spark of hope spread through him. "That sounds good.

But I must honestly admit that I am anxious about my family and Norah's adoptive parents and friends' families. They are all in this situation without really knowing how the whole situation will turn out. Can you..."

"Request personal protection?" the agent asked predictively as he was already searching for his foreign contacts to companies who are offering personal protection in Europe and the States.

"Yeah, exactly. I'm no longer comfortable with my children in a foreign city, even if my mother is with them right now. Can I call you back? I..I just realized something..."

"Of course, get back to me as soon as you can. I'm going to get back to the files now. Maybe I can find out something. See you, Mr. Huntzberger..." he said goodbye.

After the call ended, Logan looked at the perplexed faces of his wife, Max, Katherine, his dad, and Rory's parents. "Logan, what..."

"Max, where's Norah? Where is she?" he asked, trying to suppress his rising anxiety. He could never forgive himself if anything happened to Norah right now.

"Um, as far as I know, she's out with Melinda. But why..."

"Please don't ask me now, Max, I immediately want her here with us. . It... it's about Tristan..." he replied and tried again to ignore the images that went through his mind.

That was all Max needed to know. He immediately pulled his iPhone out of his jacket pocket and dialed Norah's number. "Hey, dad..what."

"Honey, I know you are out with Melinda right now, but Logan and I are picking you up. Please don't ask any questions. This isn't up for debate. I guess you and Melinda are at Leo's place, right?" he briskly asked.

"Erm right, dad..." she sighed and took a sip from her second cup of Leo's fantastic coffee.

"Good, well then we'll see you in about 20 minutes. Sit tight and wait for us."

"Yeah, sure thing, dad bye.." she said and disconnected the call.

"Let's hit the road. Norah is at Leo's Place, Logan." Max said while he put on his leather jacket.

"Alright, let's go, Max. I'll explain everything when we get back, Rory," he said.

"I want to come with you. I'm apprehensive, Logan", she sighed.

"Rory, just trust me, please. I will explain real soon. We have to go," Logan said, nearly pulling Max to Leo's cafe.

"What did your dad want, Schatzi? I mean, we've only been here half an hour or so." Melinda asked right away after she had recognized her best friend's worried facial expressions.

"I'm so sorry, Melinda, but unfortunately, dad is going to pick me up, but I don't know why. But I promise you that we can have a facetime conversation when I know more, right?" Norah explained to her and was slightly annoyed.

She couldn't grasp why both of her dads are picking her up. Why couldn't she spend a few hours with her best friend since kindergarten?!

"Always facetime... I don't get it, Emma, what's wrong with you? Is it too much to ask for to drink coffee together? What had I done wrong?" Melinda asked, quite upset, and jumped jerkily up from the chair.

"Nothing, listen, Meli I...."

"No, I'm not listening; I don't wanna hear any excuses anymore from you. I'm so fed up with you. Shannon was right; you wanted to be with Tom and used Liam to make him jealous, although you know that I like Tom, and you lied to me.

You always told me that you don't like him. You know what, Emma, safe it. Delete my phone number and never call me again," she nearly shouted in anger. Then she threw some money on the table and ran out of the coffee shop.

Shocked and irritated at the same time by Melinda's outburst of anger, Norah was left in the coffee shop. She didn't know what had gotten into her best friend.

Norah had never seen her so angry before, and now Shannon Miller was suddenly back to destroy their friendship.

She already tried it once to ruin the relationship between Norah and Melinda. Tears were burning in Norah's eyes, and a quiet sob came out from her mouth.

"Great...really great," she mumbled to herself as she gathered her iPhone, keys, and money and left the shop.

As soon as she left the coffee shop, it started to rain heavily. Immediately she went back under the roof of the coffee shop. With tear-veiled eyes, she rummaged her iPhone out of her jacket pocket, opened the Facebook app. Norah could hardly believe that Melinda had immediately thrown her out from her friend list. Was that really the ending of nearly a nine-year-old friendship, she thought by herself.

At moments like this, she wished that one of her moms was here to comfort her that Melinda wasn't worthy of her tears. But she was hurt, and before she could look at other social media like Instagram or Twitter on her iPhone, she saw a black car coming.
