Hey my beloved Readers, I know I'm terribly late for posting the next chapter, but I had a lot on my plate the last few weeks, but now thanks to my muse and of course my amazing editor I'm be able to post another chapter.
Thanks for your support it means a lot to me and a big thank you to my Wonderful Editor @amys99999 you're helping me so much and if someone is Looking for new reading material I can suggest wholeheartly the terrific original Tenacious Tulip. It's an awesome story.Half an hour later, Katherine and Rory arrived at Max's place. Logan, Max, Colin, and Finn were sitting in the living room as the women entered the room. Rory was immediately worried when she saw her husband.
That wasn't the Logan she had married nearly fifteen years ago.
With hanging shoulders, she found him sitting on the couch. And when Logan looked up, Rory was terrified. There was a flash of hatred, sadness, and despair in his eyes.
"Logan, what's wrong? MAC, please talk to me. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere," she said as she took the seat next to him and looked deep into his eyes.
"I don't know where to start, Rory. I'm so angry. I can't believe the truth was within my grasp the entire time," Logan answered as he tried his best to keep calm.
The last hours had been exhausting for all of them. Logan began to see many things from a different angle. He noted that whenever they had seen Tristan, he was distant and always tried to keep a low profile when it related to stories about Rory and Logan's kids.
"Now everything makes sense," Logan mumbled to himself quietly.
"What makes sense? Please talk to me, Logan," Rory repeated, feeling irritated at his introspective attitude.
"It's about Tristan, Rory..." Logan began in a low voice.
"Please enlighten me, Logan," Rory said, trying to conceal her impatience. "What does Tristan have to do with the situation? I don't get it." Rory sighed and tried to ignore her growing feeling of dread, which was growing unstoppable in her mind.
Turning to look at her, Logan took her hands in his. He began slowly, "Tristan helped Pierre. Odette sent me more files that she had found in her parent's attic in Paris. We've had issues, but she knew I would want to see immediately."
As soon as the words had left Logan's mouth, Rory couldn't think straight. How could Tristan do this? Rory thought they had become kind of friends after Tristan and Odette started dating. She thought back to all the different charities and events where they had spent happy hours together. She had come to trust Tristan and never would have suspected he had a role in the most traumatic event of her life.
"What? Tristan..god I..I don't know what to say. It..it's like a bad nightmare god Logan.." Rory said after a few minutes and tried her best to fight against her rising tears. She could hardly withstand the flood of information.
Rory buried her face in her hands, overwhelmed by her emotions. The tears she so gallantly fought escaped her closed eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
"Hey...shh Rory, I know all this information is shocking. But we will survive this. We have survived so much already. In comparison, this is nothing. If anything, it is closure," Logan said as he regained his strength and composure for Rory. "I never liked Tristan that much, but he's going to regret it. I'll make sure of that. I discussed with Colin, Finn and also Max the option of forwarding the files to the FBI and Officer Nolan. They were all for it. Weren't they, Colin?"
"That's right, the sooner the information gets to the FBI and the Hartford police, the sooner all the lawsuits that we have to face will be settled." Colin entered the conversation and tried his best to be objective. He knew Rory and Logan needed his professional opinions. Even though it hurt him deeply to see his best friends so desperate.
"I understand that Colin, except I don't know how to handle the whole situation. I'm on the verge of losing my mind. That son of a bitch lied to our faces for years without blinking an eye!" Rory erupted. Then her eyes grew wide as she thought of something. "And we need to get Nathalie away from Jason immediately, Logan. If I'd known that beforehand, I never would have let Nat near Jason. He probably doesn't know anything, and I know it's irrational. But I don't care! I want him away from her!"
Logan already considered that and knew that it wouldn't be easy to get Nathalie to stay away from Jason. But it was his duty to protect his daughter from all pain and danger. That included forbidding her to be with her boyfriend. "This will be extremely difficult, but I will talk to her tonight when she's coming back from the cinema, Ace. Or would you rather do it together?" Logan asked.
"Logan, I don't know. I don't even know what to say anymore. I don't know how much more I can take at this point. Will this ever be over?" Rory asked with a fresh flood of tears.
"Rory, sweetie, calm down. It is over. We are just cleaning up the mess now. We have our girl back. Now we need to make sure people pay for our suffering and years of loss. I know this isn't pleasant, but it is necessary," Logan said reassuringly as he wiped her tears. "I'll talk to Nat. Why don't you go take a nice bath and get some sleep?"
