David Rossi.
Every member of the BAU knew him as something different. To Spencer, he was a world renowned crime author, who wrote about the cases he had worked. To the rest of the team, he was known as the founder of the BAU. And to Hotch, he was simply known as a friend.
Which is why Aaron was the first one to go and greet him.
"Dave! Good to see you." Aaron smiled and the two men hugged each other.
"Aaron, you too." David Rossi smiled before looking at the other people in the room. "This must be your team."
Aaron nodded and introduced everyone. While Rossi was speaking to Spencer, who was spouting out compliments and facts and questions all at once, Penelope was distracted by Amari and Derek. Derek was whispering something down at her and though it may have looked like an innocent conversation, innocent enough for Penelope to cast her eyes away. But as she did, her eyes wandered down and glued themselves to they hands, merely brushing together. But the longer she watched, the more entangled their hands came to be.
The soft gasp that slipped through her bright pink lips was only heard by Emily, and she smirked at Penelope's reaction when she realized why she was reacting like that.
"And lastly, this is Amari Cirillo and Derek Morgan." Aaron introduced Rossi to the last of his team.
Penelope watched as their hands shot apart and Derek greeted the legendary agent first. Then he moved onto Amari.
"Nice to meet you." Amari smiled as she shook Rossi's hand.
Rossi smiled, "And you."
"I look forward to working with you. Your reputation precedes you."
Rossi offered her a half smile and nodded and Amari concluded that he didn't like to talk very much. Perhaps that would change the more he spent time with them since the only other thing the BAU did than cases was gossip. And as luck would have it, a new topic had sprung, much to Derek and Amari's chagrin.
As soon as Rossi had walked away from the group, Penelope burst.
The rest of the team, except for Hotch and Rossi, watched in amusement as she bounced on the balls of her feet and squealed excitedly.
"Oh I knew it! This is so exciting!" She exclaimed and a huge smile grew on her already pleasantly happy face. "I'm so happy for you two. Oh come here."
Penelope pulled them both in for a hug and hey hugged her back tightly.
"Now you keep my chocolate thunder happy." Penelope pinched Amari's cheeks and Mari laughed and nodded.
