Two days later.
Chase and Amari were getting ready to go to Emily's in a comfortable yet icy silence. Amari still hadn't forgiven him fully from dinner with Aaron and he knew that she wasn't really ready to have him apologize yet again. She'd forgive him over time and he'd already apologized a lot.
"Amari and Chase!" Em exclaimed as she opened the door. "Come in, come in!"
Amari smiled as she gave the woman a hug and a kiss on her cheek and Chase shook her hand politely. They walked in and hung their coats up in the closet and walked out into the garden to meet the team.
"Mari! You made it." Spencer smiled as he gave her a tight hug.
"Of course Spence, I wouldn't miss one of Emily's parties for the world." Amari told him and he laughed.
"Mari, you remember James." He said softly, gesturing towards the smiling man next to him.
"Of course I do, you're the cutie from the café." Amari smiled as she hugged him. "It's nice to see you."
"I'm afraid that was Spencer." James grinned as he hugged her back. "And it's lovely to see you too Amari."
"Uh, this is Chase." She smiled up at her boyfriend as he walked towards them after greeting everyone else. "My boyfriend."
"Hi, James." James stuck his hand out for Chase to shake and they shook hands firmly.
"Hey Chase." Spence drawled. "Good to see you. Heard dinner with Aaron went well."
Amari rolled her eyes as Chase flashed Spencer a tight lipped smile. "Good to see you too Spencer." He said stiffly before wandering back to Aaron and JJ.
"Really Spence." Amari sighed.
James chuckled, "I take it we don't like him?" He looked at Spencer.
Spencer shook his head, "No. I'll tell you all about it in a moment."
James laughed, "Can't wait."
Amari giggled and shook her head as she left the two of them alone, they seemed extremely cute together and Spencer seemed immensely happy with James. She ventured out to where Haley and Aaron were standing, forgetting for a moment about the dinner two days ago. As soon as she did, she swerved awkwardly and walked over to where Derek and Emily were pouring drinks.
