After Derek successfully snuck out of Amari's room, Amari started getting ready, throwing on a pair of dark grey plaid slacks and a soft black sweater, slipping on a pair of white trainers to top everything off. She met Hotch outside her door, a bright smile on her face as she skipped over to him.

"Morning boss." She said sweetly as she looped her arm through his and practically dragged him out of the hotel. "Ready to go catch this guy?"

Hotch laughed lightly under his breath. "You seem in much higher spirits."

"And you sound like my old English teacher." Amari drawled. "But yeah! I have a better feeling about today." She grinned as they made it to the car.

"Hey." Hotch said softly, gripping her wrist lightly and turning her around to face him. "Morgan and Spencer told me what happened. Are you okay?" He asked, pressing his hand lightly against her arm.

Amari sighed and nodded, "I'm okay now. I think I needed that to happen for me to move forward with this case."

Hotch nodded and squeezed her shoulder lightly, "I'm here if you want to talk you know."

Amari smiled gratefully, "I know."

Aaron let go of her and opened the passenger door for her, helping her inside the car before gently closing the door and rounding the car to get to the drivers side. She hummed softly as Aaron drove them to the station, occasionally glancing out the window to gaze at the scenery as it blurred past her.

"Amari." Hotch said slowly, gaining her attention.

She hummed in response and he leaned over to the passenger seat, reaching his hand out and running his fingers over a spot on her neck.

"Did you get hurt or something?" He asked worriedly as he removed his fingers from her neck and flipped the mirror down so she could look at what he was talking about.

Amari almost cursed out loud as she spied the rather dark hickey that stuck out prominently against her tan skin.

"Somehow, yeah." She replied nonchalantly, covering the dark bruise with her hair.

Aaron nodded and opened his door and got out of the car, making his way over to Amari's side and held the door open for her as she hopped out of the car as well. She thanked him and they both walked into the station, ready to solve the case and catch this unsub — even though they knew there'd be more like him, but for now, they would try their hardest to prevent him from killing anymore.

"Morning." The detective from yesterday greeted Amari and Hotch with a slight grin on his cheery face.

Hotch nodded at the detective before he strode towards the conference room, wanting to get a head start on working the case.
