Date: 03/27/2089

Location: unknown, main headquarters of the Japanese secret service Psia, artifact room

[ from Kaito's perspective]

I've been trying to crack the password for 9 days now. I almost got it! It had never taken me so long before, my longest time before was less than 3 hours with an English database! I just have to run this program quickly...

A beep startled me. I had it! I cracked it! All alone! Just me!

I informed the suit-man, his name was Suzushi Meishu, as I once found out during a conversation.

...

For over an hour after I had called Meishu, the employees had talked and checked the data of the artifact together with him, which had been running continously since I had cracked the password and entered it.

I was standing next to a snack machine when Meishu came out of the room with a thoughtful face.

"There is one problem.." he began to speak. "Apparently the decryption of the artifact is not yet complete, but only at the beginning. It looks like as if the actual "passwords" are hidden in the artifact itself. The only way to get them is to dive into the world of the artifact and use them from there"

"Huh? What kind of world?," I asked, puzzled.

"Oh yes, I probably forgot to tell you...

You see, this artifact seems to harbor a world that is just like ours, maybe there are even several worlds...and in each of these worlds there is a key hidden that we need to get the limitless energy. The password you found was only there to unlock the artifact, but the grand keys are hidden in these worlds.."

"Forgot," I grinned. "For sure you guys knew that before already, you just left out that part. But I don't care, I'm done here, so keep the deal," I said unaffected.

"But Mr. Ekō, you haven't kept your part yet. We agreed that you would crack the artifact so that we could get the power, but we don't have anything yet."

"And? What can I do about that? Wait...you want me to..?!"

"Exactly, Mr. Ekō. You will travel to these worlds together with a team provided by us and collect all keys, in total 4 keys of 4 worlds"

"What the hell? That's why you had kept it from me!" I began to understand. "Why do I have to come with you?? Can't your soldiers do it alone?

"Well, our soldiers don't understand anything about computer language. You see, in those worlds you will be able to manipulate things, because everything in there is coded with numbers and variables and all that stuff. You can do things like that there, because you understand the world, but our soldiers can't. Therefore we need you and some other computer experts.

To say it in folk's way: You'll have super powers inside there"

"And what do you have to do to get hands on the keys?"

"Uhm, well, after checking the data several times, we found signatures of mountains and landscapes, but also of strange creatures. It looks like you and our team will have to fight your way trough to the key, in each of the 4 worlds. But we don't know how the other worlds look like, since we could only scan the first one"

"You can forget that, I am not a fighter, and your so-called superpowers won't change that either! I'm out!" I insisted.

"Just as I thought, Mr. Ekō. Well, then we'll have use other ways," he grinned viciously.

Very fast, he reached into his suit-pocket and took out an object. I recognized that it was a device with multiple glowing buttons.

Before everything turned black, all I saw was that he pressed an orange button.
