Of course, as always, first of all a big thank you to all of my readers. I started writing this book on January 17th, 2021, and finished on April 1st, 2021. Actually quite fast for such a long book ...
But also thanks to other, special people.
Anelia, Carolina, Tim, Emmy, Emma, Emely (there are too many Ems oof), Timur, Mark (a different one), Annie, Laura, Charlotte, Hannah;
through the acquaintance with you I was able to learn and recognize a lot ... and partly this book exists only because of you in some way.
Thanks also to Sandro and the rest of the PBC, and Eric Gurt, who made them possible in the first place. I was also able to learn a lot through his game and to have a lot of fun for myself and others.
While many of you will probably never read this, who knows, you might stumble upon this book one day. Well, even if, who is actually reading the acknowledgements? *cough*
The core message of the book is ... diverse, it mentions many aspects that some may not have noticed at all. From social criticism, suffering and true strength to small hints of racism, everything is included. But in the end, and that wasn't planned, the book also focused a lot on letting go and accepting. And of course also from taking off his mask to become his real self.
I have overcome myself too, alone. Which is indirectly also the fault of the people mentioned above, and through these new experiences I have changed a lot in the last, about five, months.
Kaito resembles me in a few ways, I often took my qualities and made them more extreme. Some other characters also had real peoples as idols, at least a few background stories I had taken from a couple of the friends mentioned above and made more extreme again.
I think Kaito is a pretty strong character, after all, the whole book is really just about him and his thoughts, which made it possible to describe him very graphically.
In that sense, I hope you had a lot of fun reading my book, and I also hope that you learned a little from my work or something like that. And I believe that you can overcome the wrong you too, you just have to deal with it. Yeah, I know, you're not me. But still, if you try, after a while you will notice that it is much easier than you think.
When I first started writing this book, a new chapter came out every day. I actually wrote one every day, for about the whole of Big Chapter 1. In the second Big Chapter, writing was a little more difficult for me, because I just didn't realize the story of Tan'i that quickly. That's why I had a little break during this time, after I tried to continue writing, I finally found the story line. The thing was, I myself never knew how the story would end. The plot of the story, the plot twists and the ending have changed several times, and just came about while writing or through a brilliant idea. Nor was it actually planned to use all of the clues that pointed to the real world, such as the USB stick or just the fact that Aima looked like Yuri. This fact was mentioned in chapter 1, and I would never have imagined at that time that this would be the main cause of the whole story. But as the story developed, everything suddenly fit together, although I myself actually only knew halfways what was going on.
That's why I would never have stopped writing my book. Readership and such are all nice and cool, of course a little fame never hurts. But in the end I wrote the book for myself and not for others, so I wanted to know how the story ended up myself. And in the future, I'll probably still have enough opportunities to show off that I wrote an entire book myself. XD
In the third Big Chapter my writing was more planned, the reason for that was that I already knew how many chapters it should have. How so? Well, if nobody noticed, the first letters of the chapter titles add up to N-i-r-e-t-s-u, so seven chapters. I wanted it that way in advance already. The idea with the title names works in the German version as well as in the English, but should this book ever be translated into other languages (you can never know), it would probably not work so well.
This should've actually been only some acknowledgement words, but I thanked or talked about so many other things. Well, then let it it just be as big as a whole chapter ...
Good luck to all of you and thanks once again!
Mark :)
