Location: 2. World (Tan'i), Railway line to the red city

Boryōku, Mukanshin, Aima, Chūjitsuna and Tsuyoi were on the second train when they heard a loud bang that startled them. Mukanshin looked out the window, scared.

"What the—"

"What happened??"

"The train next to us crashed!"

"Weren't Kaito and Don'yoku there?" Aima asked worried. Since the survivors were not all military, she was allowed to speak again. She would be branded a civilian, nothing more.

"Shit, you are right .."

Boryōku sighed. "And lost team members again. Don'yoku was the strongest of us. Will we still manage to fulfill the mission? We're only in the second world .. "

Aima looked sadly at the floor.

A whirring startled the passengers. A glowing blade cut through the ceiling of the cabin. The round metal disk hit the floor with a loud noise.

Immediately the group drew their weapons and killed the first soldier who jumped down through the hole into the cabin. More glowing cuts appeared on the walls, and soon the room was overrun with red soldiers. Boryōku fought bitterly against the enemy hordes. With a disgusting crack, he broke the neck of a red man and hit the others with his long sword at the same time.

"There are too many!" Tsuyoi's voice could be heard. He had just rammed his fist blades into an opponent's stomach, but also took a blow on the arm.

Aima got into trouble. Three soldiers had surrounded her and fought her with short pairs of axes. Desperate, she parried the crackling blows with an effort, but soon gave in. Her arms grew weaker and weaker and her reactions slowed down.

And then a purple glow lit the long cabin. A purple wall had formed in front of Aima. A wall made of crystal.

The axes landed on the protective rock. They ricocheted off, were thrown back, and hit the attackers in the heads. The dead fell to the ground in a shower of blood.

"Aima has developed her power!" Chūjitsuna marveled.

Before he could finish the sentence, light formed around the team and created more crystal walls.

Mukanshin reached inside the transparent crystal structure with his fingers. And reached through. "Shields that you can still fight with"

"Finally something useful," teased Tsuyoi when a few laser shots failed to penetrate his shield.

The remaining yellows, who did not belong to their small group, gave them astonished and startled looks. If they didn't have to fight, they probably wouldn't have averted their eyes. Indeed, the scene looked very bizarre. The crystal panes floated in the air, ranging from head to toe. The disk was not smooth, but rough and full of crystal jagged edges. Unpolished, so to speak. It fended off every blow and shot, even bouncing it back. And yet the owners of the disks were able to punch through the crystal. Like water, the crystal dissolved briefly at the point, then it flowed back again.

The surprised opponents could not cope with the new situation. The yellows quickly regained the upper hand and drove the red intruders from the train rooms.

Heavy footsteps could be heard stamping on the roof.

"There are more to come, we have to prevent them from coming in!" Boryōku shouted and heaved himself up using metal bars that were meant to be used as handles for passengers. Then he jumped out through a hole that gaped in the ceiling.
