"Jaden...i can explain." I watched him walk out of the kitchen. Following behind, i attempted to reach out to touch him.
"...DONT." He looked at me, pain building up in his eyes.
"Just let me explain!"
"...Remember that time when we said no lies? Remember when i told you, you could tell me anything?!" He shook his head.
"I DO tell you everything!" I threw my hands up in annoyance.
"Yes. you evidently do." He rolled his eyes then scoffed. "You're fucking ridiculous, you know that?" And with that, he grabbed the keys he had dropped on the side table minutes earlier. The pain in my chest grew and oangs of anxiety hit me. Im fucking ridiculous for wanting to be independent? For wanting to be a normal 19 year old?
"Oh dear... What have i done?" Jada asked nervously as i shuffled back into the kitchen.
"Um...dont worry, its okay..." I excused myself and left the kitchen.
I sauntered around the house in search of Jaden but to no avail. Picking up my phone, i attempted to call him. The line went dead after a few rings, implying he had declined my call.
Crap.
I continued looking for him, checking every single room in the house which took me forever. Fuck. That was the last thing i needed to happen to ruin everything i had with Jaden. For some unbeknown reason, i didnt feel bad about Jada accidentally telling him.
I felt.....relieved. Realizing i hadn't checked one room, i walked down the stairs and took a left into the Theatre room. The shape of Jaden's hair greeted me and i walked down the dark room to the last seat in a row where Jaden sat, staring at the blank screen. The spotlights were on ahead of us.
"Jaden..."
Silence.
I blinked repeatedly and he was no longer there. What? I looked around the whole room in disbelief. He was right there...wasnt he?
With confusion completely brainwashing me, i walked out of the room.
"I cant find him..." I walked into the kitchen.
"I just saw him drive out..."
"Nadine, im so sorry." Jada wiped her hands on her apron.
"It's okay. Thankyou. I couldnt face telling him anyway... He probably hates me now...why would he want to listen to me." I sat at the diner.
"That's not true. He adores you...you know that. Why didn't you tell him?" She continued chopping up food.
"He didn't want her to get a job, God knows why." Willow passed a bottle of water to me.
"Really? He didn't say why?"
"He said he thinks im not ready." I played with my fingers nervously.
"...That's how Jaden is. He's really protective."
"Hey, whats up with Diggy?" Will walked into the kitchen and my heart beated twice as fast. I still wasn't used to knowing him, let alone living with him.
"...Um..." I murmured afraid to tell him i was the reason his son was so pissed off.
"Nadine applied for a job at Seventeen magazine..."
"Oh wow! How did it go?" Will's eyes swerved over at me.
"Not exactly how i wanted it to..." I looked down.
"They called back...they want her to do modelling."
Will's jaw dropped open.
"Up top, girl." He held his palm up and i highfived him. "So what's the problem?"
