metal clanks together as our swords make an 'x' i grit my teeth trying to push him away,he's the first to slide his sword away and i go to attack,our swords crashing together as they continuously meet,every step i take forward he steps back until i have the upper hand swerve my hand in a circle motion making him release his sword and i point my weaponed tip to his throat but not to the point where i'm drawling blood and he raises his hand in surrender i smirk thinking i had him but he brings his knee to my hand that's holding the sword and i release it as he swings his leg behind mine and i fall backwards on my butt as he catches my weapon and the rolls are reversed i sigh and roll my eyes

"that was better" i avoid eye contact but i can hear the smirk in his voice i grumble under my breath "that's unfair you beat me every time dad"

he offers me a hand to get me on my feet "you'll learn when you get older and better"

"i'm never gonna be as good as you" i frown

he sighs "you might...come on what do we always say?"

"we become the thing we're amazed by the most" i answer

"that's the spirit bails" i smile "ready for round two?" i ask hopeful he chuckles and gets into fighting position.

present time:

me and henry are sitting at a booth in granny's silently waiting for emma. henry nudges me and i roll my eyes and walk over to ruby

"hey double R?" i ask,i call her double R because it stands for ruby-red a nickname i gave her

"what's up?" she asks,leaning over the diner counter and sending me a smile

"can you make me a hot chocolate with cinnamon please?" "i thought you didn't like cinnamon on yours?" she asks

"i don't but this is for a blonde woman in a lather jacket could you give it to her when she arrives? and say it's from...a secret admirer" i slightly smile she nods "will do"

i give her the money and says 'thank you' before walking back over to henry where he's sitting in our booth just as emma walks through the door.

"here you go" ruby said handing her the drink "thank you,but i didn't order that" emma says

"yeah i know,you have..." she looks over to me "a secret admirer"

i wink at her she takes the drink and walks over to graham cracker and places the drink on the table

"ahh so you decided to stay"

she nods "observant,important for a cop"

"it's good news for our tourist business,it's bad for our local signage.its...it's a joke,it's because you ran over our sign"

'wait when did that happen?!'

"look the cocoa was a nice gesture and i'm impressed that you guessed that i like cinnamon on my hot chocolate because most people don't,but i am not here to flirt so thank you,but no thank you" emma sassed at the end and i had to stifle my laugh with my hand
