me and henry were at a store and henry was reading a comic book while i was reading a magazine 

"whatcha reading?" a girl walked up to us 

"the hulk vs wolverine" i smile at henrys shyness,henry's got a little crush

 "i'm ava,i think i've seen you around school,you're in miss blanchards class right? you sometimes volunteer in her class?" she asks and we both nod 

"almost ready ava?" a boy asked 

"this is my brother nichloas" ava told us 

"hey" he said looking at me 

"hi" i smile in response 

"come on let's go" nicholas told his sister 

"you wanna come hang out?" she asks us 

"sure" henry said and they walked away,henry nudged me with a smirk and i roll my eyes

 "he's like 12" i whisper to him when they weren't hearing distance

we were gonna walk out the store but the owner stopped us "where the hell do you think you're going?" mr.clark asks then sneezes 

"open up your bag" he tells henry and we share confused glances

 "what?" he asked 

"dont think i didn't see you rob me,open your bag" mr.clark says again 

 "he didn't take anything" i defended him as he grabs his book bag and unzips it and takes out candy bars? 

"and a liar too" 

henry turns to ava "that's why you were talking to us,so your brother could put that stuff in there" 

"henry i'm shocked and you two just who do you think you are?" 

"under arrest that's what they are" i spoke and everyone looked at me 

"says who?" mr.clark asked

"says me mate,the deputy" i pulled out my badge and called emma

"i'm sorry madam mayor,your son was shop lifting" regina looked at him and he shook his head 

"look for yourself" 

"my son doesn't eat candy and he knows better than to steal,it was obviously those two. we're going" regina said and grabbed my shoulder guiding me and henry to the door but emma's cop car finally pulled in. 

"henry what happened?" she asked,shutting her car door 

"miss swan must i remind you that genetics means nothing,you're not his mother and it's all taken care of" 

"i'm here because i'm the sheriff and avery called me"

 regina sent me a look "oh that's right,go on do your job,take care of those miscreants"

 "i'm gonna check this up with emma alright? i'll see you guys later" they both send me a nod before walking away and i walk towards emma and the kids 

"did you call their parent?" emma asked "the number they gave me was disconnected" mr. clark said emma narrows her eyes slightly at them 

"did you guys give mr.clark a fake number?" she asked they shook their heads

 "then why was it disconnected?" i ask 

"cause our parents couldn't pay the bill" ava explained 

"you guys are just trying to help out huh?" emma asked but i was still skeptical

 "please don't arrest us,it'll just make things worse for our parents" she begs me and emma gives me a look,i shrug with an innocent smile.
