✨coma patients✨

storybrooke present time:

today henry's class was volunteering at the hospital so of course i tagged along,also getting extra babysitting money from regina. i was walking with mary margaret when we saw henry sitting in a patients room,we exchanged looks before we walked in 

"henry we could really use your help with the decorations" she spoke

 "is mr.doe going to be okay miss blanchard?" he asks and i chuckle

 "his name isn't really john doe henry thats what they call people when they don't know who they are" i explain 

"do you know who he is?" he asked again

 "nope,we just bring him flowers on my rounds and whenever avery visits" she explained and i held up a little jar of flowers,walking over and placing them on a table. i drowned out their conversation and starred at the man,finally getting a good look at him,because usually i just place the flowers and leave,but the more i stare at him,the more familiar he does look,but i've never seen him in my life so i have no clue as to why it feels like i've known him for the longest time 

"you shouldn't be in here" mary margaret said and i zoned back into the conversation,walking over to them and leaving.

"i found your father,prince charming" henry tells emma "henry-"

 "he's in the hospital in a coma,see this scar? he has one too" henry points to his chin 

"so? lots of people have scars" emma said and i nodded

 "yeah,i've got a few,but i have this big one" i lifted up my pant leg and showed them the horizontal scar on my calf "where'd you get it?" henry asked and i shrugged "no clue,i've always had it i guess"

 henry grins at my response "it was back in your fairytale life" i rolled my eyes and he turned back to emma 

"ok but do they have scars in the same place? dont you see what this means? the curse is keeping them apart with the coma,now they're stuck without each other.we have to tell miss blanchard we found her prince charming" 

"kid,telling someone their...soulmate is in a coma is probably no helpful,not having a happy ending is painful enough" emma told him and i couldn't deny,that does sound awful 

"but giving someone unrealistic hope is far worse" i add 

"but what if i'm right? we know who they are,now they have to know" 

"and how do you intend to make that happen?" emma asked

 "by reminding them" "by reminding them?" i repeated "how are you going to do that?" 

"we have to get her to read their story to john doe,then maybe he'll remember who he is,you're even in a few parts of the story avery, and several more stories,but i can never find your actual story" he looks at me with a frown and i shrug 

"okay" emma spoke up "okay?" me and henry ask

 "yeah,we'll do it,but we'll do it my way,let me ask her"

 i give her an 'are you crazy look'. we eventually left his castle and i sat in front with emma in her car after we dropped off henry
