"its a little freakier than i remember from the story" emma says

 "reminds me of death" mulan deadpans

 "encouraging" i mumble

 "well,your compass awaits,shall we?" dad asked

 "wait if beans create portals,why not just pick one and go home? why the compass?" emma asked 

"because there aren't any more beans,whatever story you think you know my dear,is most certainly wrong"

 "there was a guy named jack,and a cow,and something about evil giants with a treasure and a golden goose,or harp" emma tells her version 

i snort "sounds like a lovely tale lass but the truth...well its a little more gruesome than that,the giants grew the beans,but rather than use them for good they used them to plunder all the lands,jack and his men fought a terrible war,defeating all but one of the evil giants,the beans were destroyed by the giants as they died,if they couldn't have the magic,nobody could...certainly very bad form" i explain and shake my head

 "evil giants,who made magic portal beans,why doesn't anyone just go up and grow some more?" emma asked and i rubbed a hand down my face

 "because one giant survived,the strongest and most terrible of them all,now we'll have to get past him to get-" "the magic compass" mary margaret cut my dad off and we nodded 

"indeed,the treasure remains,and amongst it is the compass,now it will guide us to your land,cora has the means to open a portal with the wardrobe ashes,but she cant find your land without the compass,once we get it,we steal the ashes from her,then we're on our way" dad explained 

"how do we know you're not just using us to get the compass for cora?" mulan asked,finally we agree on something.

 "because you four are far safer company" i pulled out my sword and put the end to his throat "company,yes,safer,we'll see if you fulfill your promise" i glare and bring my sword away 

"bailey,i'll swear allegiance to whomever gets me there first" 

"then we better start climbing" emma spoke

 "right so,i failed to mention that the giant enchanted the beanstalk to repel intruders" he laughs nervously

 "alright so how do we get up there?" emma asked him getting impatient 

 "i've got a counter spell from cora,if you'd be so kind" he gestured to his hands and mary margaret untied him 

"thank you m'lady" he winked and i gagged "shes married" 

he took off the stupid outfit he was wearing and i grimaced "oh god,we even dress the same" he put on the cuff and it glowed yellow

 "i've got one more of these,cora was to accompany me so which one of you five lovelies shall take her place? go on fight it out and dont be afraid to,you know,really get into it" he smirks 

 i turn to emma "can i punch him? because i promise you,the second you give me the signal,i will not disappoint" i whisper to her

 "i'll keep that in mind" she whispered back

"all due respect,i am the best equipped to go,how many wars have you been through?" mulan said and i scoffed "have you spent over 500 centuries on an island with ruthless boys?" i glare 

"this is about us getting home to our loved ones why would you-" i walked away from the fight,not wanting to hear anymore

 "how did you escape neverland? i thought you loved it" dad whispered
