petals fall but the flower endures

on a spring night
the sky waters
a flower, on the other side
laughs a father & his daughters

alongside they flourish
at midnight hour
life's a corpse to nourish
to claim eternity as ours

but flower petals drift away
and love wilts and scatters
father begs god to stay
to learn nothing matters

in a lone petal
he saw the world
just to fall on the ground
in its own it curled

no forever left that guides
since we blossom
and we vanish
in strange tides

impermanence we should greet
with open arms
to promise father will meet
his daughters in the stars

because petals fall
but the flower endures
therefore, I'll stay
forever yours
