*One Week Later*

Kaia's POV

This past week have been hell.

If I ever thought that it could only get better, well, I was so wrong.

It has been better with my brother I guess, but my parents are a whole another story.

"You can do it on your own. Don't you dare help her Aiden." My mother demands as I was trying to put on my shoes.

I wanted to yell at her, to tell her that this was not easy. Being in a wheelchair and with my right leg hurting each moment of everyday is something that I don't wish to anyone.

"Mom but she's-"

"I don't want to hear it. If she ever wants to get better, then she needs to start doing things on her own." She paused as she looked at me straight to my eyes. "If you ever want to go back to college then you better start acting like you can do it."

"And don't you dare help her." She said to Aiden and left us in my room.

I sigh as it was hopeless. I might as well just give up now.

"Here, I'll help you." I look at Aiden as he said that and I was about to tell him 'no', but he shook his head. "You are in a fucking wheelchair. You've been in it for only a week, it's obvious you are still getting use to this."

I smile a little at him, thanking him.

He helped me putting on my shoes and I was ready to go see Louis.

I haven't seen him in the past week, not since he left us here at our house.

He told me that he wanted to hang out with me.

I'm kind of nervous to say the least.

"Are you nervous?"

I nodded and he laughed at me.

"I never thought I would see the day in which you would have a boyfriend."

"We are not a couple yet."

"Mmmm but you said 'yet'. You've been talking non stop over the phone, so it's just a matter of time."

I shake my head as I couldn't help but smile. I've been staying up all night talking to him, because honestly, he is my escape.

"Let's go." My brother said.

"Hey Louis." Aiden said as we were in front of his house.

"Hey man." They did like a bro handshake kind of thing, making me think that they have also been talking.

"I'll be back whenever you want me to come and get you, okay?" I nodded and Aiden gave the wheelchair to Louis. "Take good care of her okay?"

Louis nodded. "Of course."

"I'll be fine." I assured my brother.

Nodding and looking at us one last time, he left.

"So, I'll show you a bit around my house." He said.

I nodded and he will be taking me everywhere with my wheelchair, of course.

He began to show me the living room first. There were lots of photos and family pictures.

Then we went to the kitchen and inside was a women. She looks like in her mid 40s.

Louis cleared his throat to get this women's attention.

She turned around and smiled at Louis once she saw me. Which was almost immediately.

"Oh you must be Kaia!" She said as she came over to me and kind of took me off guard because she tried to give me a hug. "It's so nice to meet you. I'm Anne, Louis' mother."

That also took me off guard.

I was not excepting meeting his parents.

"Nice to meet you too Mrs Tomlinson." I said.

"Please, really, calm me Anne. Mrs Tomlinson makes me sound old."

I laugh a little and began to feel more comfortable.

"Now I understand why Louis wanted to save you. You are indeed very beautiful." She said and Louis began to cough, making me laugh a bit.

He has been talking about me to his mom.

"Mom please..."

"Sorry sweetie." Her mother smiled at him and winked at me, making me laugh.

"Let me show you the rest of my house..." Louis said and I could tell that he was feeling uncomfortable.

After he showed me all of his house, I noticed that his mom was the only one here.

"I have 4 younger sisters that live here with me and mom. But they are at an aunts house today." He explained. He still hasn't said anything about his father, making me think that maybe something happened to him.

"Oh, it must be cool to have so many sisters."

"When you are the only boy it's not as fun." He laughs a bit.

"Yeah, understandable. I feel the same being the only girl." When I said that, I remembered that now it kind of doesn't count.

I'm I in the middle still or I'm I the youngest?

That thought wanted to mix up my emotions, making me feel like I wanted to cry. I haven't thought about that, but I don't want to think about it either.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asks, when he noticed that I stayed silent.

"Yeah sorry. You were saying?"

He looked at me questionable, but accepted the fact that I didn't want to talk about it.

For the rest of the evening, we stayed in his room and just talked and talked.

It was so easy to talk to him.

Trying to get to know him was the best part of all of this.

I don't know how to explain it, but his soul is so pure and I couldn't help but think that being almost killed by a shark could bring so much joy in my life.
