Chapter 18. How could she do this to me?

Aiden's POV 

When we got to my aunt's house, no one was answering. 

My dad rang my aunt but she didn't answer. 

Thank God he had a spear key so he opened the door and we noticed that no one was home. 

I decided to look in Kaia's room and the scene in front of me was terrifying. I wish I would never saw it. 

There was so much blood. So much fucking blood. 

"DAD!" I yelled as I was looking at the scene. I felt like in a twisted horrifying movie. 

Tears wanted to fall from my eyes and I looked everywhere. There was blood from the bathroom to the door. 

But then I saw a spot that didn't have blood which was Kaia's desk. 

There were 3 letters on the desk, one with my name, my dad's and Louis'. 

The worst thing came to my mind as to why there was so much blood. 

She did what I never thought she would. 

"What happened-" Before my dad could finish that question, I could hear his deep breathe as he saw the scene. 

Now I was full on crying as I hold the letters. Scared to even see my name written in it. 

"They must be at the hospital. We have to go." Was all that dad said. He didn't even saw me holding the letters. 

I followed him as I took one last look at the room, I hope it isn't as bad as I'm thinking it is. 

Louis' POV 

When I got to the address Aiden gave me, the door from the house was opened but there were no cars parked. 

I got off of my car and took my phone with me as I knocked, just in case someone was here. But I think they forgot to close the door. 

"Hello? Is someone here?" I asks. No answer. 

I decided to check each room, just in case. 

The last room I was missing was just at the end of the hall and for some reason, I had chills run through my body. 

When I open the door fully, since it was kind of opened, the picture in front of me was one that will hunt me forever, like those really really scary movies. 

Just that the scene I was in, had already happen and it was too late. 

There was blood everywhere. 

And my eyes immediately water, thinking of the worst. 

With trembling hands, I took out my phone and called Aiden. 

"Louis." He answered immediately. 

"Aiden what the fuck is going on?" I asks as my eyes traveled everywhere through the room. As if making sure that I never forget this. 

"We are at the nearest hospital, I'll send you the address." He said and I could hear he was trying so hard not to cry. 

"Aiden, is Kaia okay?" 

"J-just come quick, I'll explain it here." 

He hanged up, clearly not wanting to tell me through the phone. 

Shit Kaia, what did you do?

When I arrived at the hospital, I saw Aiden and his dad, both very much stressed out and I guess Kaia's aunt was also with them. 

Their dad saw me first and came towards me, thanking me for coming and I could see the pain in his eyes. 

"Sir, what's going on?" I asks. As Aiden also came towards me and gave me a hug. 

They presented me to Aiden and Kaia's aunt and she looks the most traumatized. I guess she was in the scene when it happened. 

"K-Kaia tried to- to k-" He couldn't say it, his voice trembled and he began to cry, saying 'sorry' as he went out of the waiting room, their aunt following him behind. 

"Aiden..." I said as he was the only one who could tell me now. I saw that he had a letter in his hands, that were actually shaking. 

"I think you should read this." 

"Is Kaia d-dead?" I managed to asks, because it was killing me not knowing the answer. 

When he shook his head 'no', I let out a breathe as a small weight got off of my shoulders. 

"Then what happened? Where is she?" 

"She's kind of in a coma, they are trying everything they can to save her." I don't know how he is managing to say all these things without breaking down. 

I nodded and he told me again to read the letter. 

Deciding that I don't want to read it here but better outside, I did just that. 

And began to read the letter.

My eyes read it over and over and over, so many times that I lost count. 

Tears falling down as I look at the letter. 

Not believing my own eyes. 

I just can't believe she would do this. 

I just can't believe that she would leave me this way. 

And I now realize that it's because of what Niall said to her. 

I don't know what hurts more. 

The fact that he kept this from me or that he may have been a big part of what's happening right now without even knowing it. 

He really doesn't know how much his words hurt Kaia. 

I know he was only trying to protect me or whatever, but I don't think I'll be able to forgive him. 

And about Kaia, I don't know if I'll be able to forgive her either. She said 'let me go', but I could never let her go. 

She said 'you are my hero' but yet she tried to take her own life, preventing me to be a real hero. 

She was never a burden, but instead a light in my life that distracted me from mine, which is sometimes a good thing. 

She doesn't know this yet but she actually also saved me. 

She changed me for the better and now that was all tossed to the trash. 

Like her own life. 

How could she do this to me? 

How could she do this to all of the people that love her? 

I know that we are not much, but I just hoped that I was enough. 

Maybe I'm not enough for her and my friendship didn't really meant much. 

If it meant more, she wouldn't of done this. 

But I can't think this way. She may need me more than ever. 

But how can I just show up at her room and pretend everything is okay or that everything can go back to the way it was? 

That I could ever forgive her for this? 

Will I be able to forgive her?
