Chapter 17. What's going on?

Kaia's POV 

I don't know how my life got so messed up. How did I ended up here? 

Really, I had an okay childhood but then everything fall apart and I couldn't stop it. 

But why me? 

What did I ever do wrong? 

What have I done? 

It's only getting worse, although I've tried so hard to fix it, it ended up hurting everyone I cared for. 

This is the only solution to everyone's problem. 

That I'm not in them anymore. 

With that thought on my mind, putting stop to my music and leaving the letters in the desk so it would be easy to spot, I made my way to the bathroom, took the scissors, and began. 

Aiden's POV 

I was walking home from work when my phone began to ring. 

I saw it was my aunt but decided to call her back when I got home. 

She can wait. 

I let it ring and continue walking. But then she rang again, making me wonder if everything was okay... 

It should be okay, right? 

Something came onto me and I knew I had to answer. Something doesn't feel right. 

"Hi aunt, what's up?" I asks, getting chills down my spine when I heard her taking a deep breathe. "Aunt?" 

"You have to come right now." Was what she said and I could tell that she wanted to cry. 

"Aunt, what's going on?" I asks, as I hurried my steps home. 

"K-Kaia- s-she-" Oh no, I really have a bad feeling now. 

"What? What's going on?" I was getting more and more worried as she began to cry and couldn't tell me what was going on. When I saw that she couldn't talk, all I said was "Call 911, I'll go as soon as I can." 

I have no clue what happened but I knew it was bad enough that she had to call 911 and somehow tell them, if she couldn't tell me. 

When I got home, my mom wasn't there, as always, she was out getting drunk. 

But dad was and he saw how worried I looked. 

"What happened?" 

"Kaia." Was all I said and he took the car keys and we began to drive to my aunts house. I texted Louis on the way there. 

Louis' POV 

I was with Niall in my room as we were watching Netflix and eating popcorn. We decided to have a bro time today since it's been a while since we've seen each other like this. 

Everything was fine, when suddenly my phone buzzed, which meant that I had a text. 

Something bad happened to Kaia. I'm not sure what but we are going to our aunt's house. 

It was Aiden, but I'm surprised and worried at the same time. 

What does their aunt have to do with Kaia? 

Why are you going to your aunt's house? And where is it? 

"Is everything okay?" I heard Niall asks, but I just need Aiden to answer me. 

What do you mean? Kaia has been living with my aunt for the past month, didn't she told you? 

No. She hasn't texted me back in over a month. 

Now I have even more questions than before. 

Why didn't she told me? Why didn't she say goodbye? 

This is the address, just get there as soon as you can, I'm on my way with my dad. 

He sent me the address and it is an hour away from here. 

I just want to know what's going on. 

"Louis, what happened?" Niall asked again, as I was standing up and putting on my shoes. He stopped the movie and stood up. 

"Something bad happened to Kaia, I have to be there for her." 

"But what about our bro time? And I thought that you weren't talking to her anymore." I stoped putting on my shoes, and although my head was everywhere but here, I needed to say sorry to Niall. 

"She wasn't the one who texted me. It was her brother and he didn't told me what was going on, he just said that something wrong happened. You have to understand that I care for her Niall. As much pain as she has caused me by not talking to me, I need to be there." 

"You have saved her enough, don't you think? You could just wait until Aiden tells you what happened and stay here with me and have our bro time." 

That was the moment I realized that Niall was keeping something from me. He has never acted this way. 

"Niall, why are you acting like this?" I asks, as I came face to face with him. I saw his face change, and he was now worried. "What are you keeping from me?" 

He avoided looking at me "Nothing, go ahead, we can do this another day." He began to take his things but I stoped him. 

"Seriously. Why are you lying to me?" 

He sighed as he looked at me. 

"I may have told Kaia to get out of your life..." When he said that I swear I didn't understand. I couldn't comprehend why he would lie to me like that, why would he do such a thing. 

"What the hell Niall?!" I almost yelled, but tried to calm down. 

"I'm sorry, okay? I thought that you needed to focus more on your family-" 

"That is not your choice to make! You know I like her, heck maybe even love her! It's been a month since she last talked to me but I still think about her every single fucking day, wondering what the hell I did wrong!" 

"I know! I'm sorry!-" 

"NO! YOU FUCKING RUINED MY FRIENDSHIP WITH HER! I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND!" I finally yelled, feeling myself getting worked up. 

"She was keeping you away from the people that truly care for you-" 

"IF YOU TRULY CARED, YOU WOULDN'T OF HURT HER AND LESS HURT ME!" 

Someone opened the door to my room and it was my mom, who looked worried from all my yelling. 

When she looked at me and saw that I was almost crying, she stepped in between us. 

"What is going on?" She asks. 

"I have to go." Was all I said as I looked at Niall with so much hate in my eyes. Because in that moment, I swear I hated him and I couldn't understand why he did what he did. 

"Louis wait-" 

My mom stoped Niall and also stoped me. 

"Where are you going?" 

"Kaia needs me. Something bad happened to her. I have to go." I said and looked at my mom in the eyes. Tears spilling from my eyes. 

She knew I was hurting and she looked worried too. 

"Tell me everything when you get the chance." She said. 

 I nodded and looked at Niall with now disappointed eyes and left him there with my mom. 

And now all I could think about was Kaia.
