Chapter eight.

[Leah finally brings something good with her]

"I wouldn't say I was in control

it was more like

I was the puppet but that was okay

because I haven't felt that kind of power

in decades"

Funnily enough, everyone except Leah seemed to know the game plan. They all looked at each other and boom, they knew. Sadly Leah didn't share their telepathy, which meant that when as Leo rushed towards a tree harvester, Piper ran towards her father and Jason seemed to be charging at the giant, Leah had no idea what to do.

So of course, she attacked.

Leah didn't know where her power was coming from, but it worked out, because she immediately was able to strike down one of the Earthborn. Leo managed to strike down two more, but sadly he struck Leah with the burning logs too, so she would have to take care of that burn.

The way Leah fought was simple: cage the opponent, then strike. As three Earthborn were now down, she decided that Leo could handle the three remaining, but nevertheless she ran over to him. He was in the seat of the tree harvester, swinging the crane arm towards a charging Earthborn.

"You okay up there? I'll take down another, then I can go help Jason out," Leah said, slightly louder than normal due to the chaos around them. Leo nodded. "Yeah, sure, do that." Then he turned the crane arm back to the remaining monsters.

Leah raised her arms, the roots from underneath the Earthborn wrapping themselves around the clay creatures. They didn't seem to know what was happening, because they kept their attention completely on the tree harvester. "Bad vroom-vroom!" They yelled. Then the Earthborn tried to charge at it, throwing sharp rocks which demolished the tree harvester almost immediately.

They seemed to have noticed by now that their feet were stuck to the ground, but before they could do anything, Leah focused her energy on one, letting the roots wrap around his body and squeezing him. He quickly demolished into wet clay.

"Dozer!" Leo yelled, sending an appreciative nod to Leah, who just looked at the situations Jason and Piper had found themselves in, her eyes darting in between the two. Piper had by now cut her dad from the stake, and she seemed to be doing fine, so Leah decided to go to Jason's aid.

Jason was definitely in a pickle. He had been dodging the giant, which was very impressive, but his lance seemed to be brittle and Jason was tired. Fortunately Enceladus's attention was completely on Jason, so Leah could attack without getting burned.

She saw that the ichor stopped flowing every few minutes, so suffocation it was. Leah also knew she would need a god or goddess on her side to win, but Jason probably had that covered with his dad. He just needed to connect the dots. Leah was just a distraction, she wasn't the main weapon, but she would take that place for now. Just enough for Jason to gain contact with Jupiter- or Zeus, whoever.

She brought up the vines around Enceladus's feet, but this time with many more. Enceladus was probably really really strong, so she didn't want to take any chances. "The mighty Jason Grace," Enceladus taunted. "Yes, we know about you, son of Jupiter. The one who led the assault on Mount Othrys. The one who single-handedly slew the Titan Krios and toppled the Black Throne."
