Chapter 52

Rose's POV.

I walk into my room and sit down on my bed. I start to ponder through my thoughts, a lot has been going on lately and it's just way too much to handle.
I just need fresh air.

I walk outside and sit down on the front porch, then deeply inhale the air. The air was warm and the breeze made everything just right.

I close my eyes and listen carefully to the city. It reminds me of the times my dad used to take me to the city back in Florida. I can't help but cry.
Rose get yourself together, you can't keep crying about the past you've got to worry about the now.

The house always seems quiet at night. As I'm walking inside my watch starts beeping and I run upstairs to see if Henry is gone, and he is. God dang he's fast.

I start running to Junk-N-Stuff, I forgot to quit yesterday, but I guess one extra day won't really hurt. I slide across the floor, hop into the elevator, and press the down button.

Over the times I've been coming here I've gotten used to the elevator, so it doesn't really bother me. Ray is already in his costume and he keeps looking over at his watch.

"What's the issue?" I yell. "it's like 1 in the morning."

"I need you- wait where's Henry?" He asks.

"I'm right here." he says coming out of his tube.

"I need you guys to get your costumes on. We have a serious situation." he says.

Henry and I both pop a piece of gum in our mouth and blow a bubble. Our costumes are on us and we're eager to know what the situation is.

"Sooo." Henry says.

"Oh. Well Miss Swellview has been kidnapped and I really need your help. She's so hot." he whispers the last part.

"Jeez Ray, lets just go." Henry says.

Henry and I go into our tube and Ray goes in his.

"Up the tube." Henry and I say in unison.

He kisses me on the way up.

"Follow me guys she's this way." Ray says.

We grab each others hand and start running everywhere Ray goes.

"Keep a low profile when you're around here." Ray whispers.

"K." I say.

He walks over to a storage unit, smashes the lock, and pushes the door up. Ray runs in and unties Miss Swellview.

"Well, well, well look who showed up." some lady says behind us.

I turned around sharply and she stabbed me really hard in the chest.

"Rose." Henry yells before I hit the ground.

Henry's POV.

Ray drops Miss Swellview and runs over to the bitch that stabbed Rose. they start fighting and I grab her. I pull her head closer to my chest and I look at the spot where she got stabbed. She got stabbed on the left side of her chest... Her heart.

I promised her that I wouldn't ever lose her and that was a big lie. Her heart slowed down then there was no pump. Her skin started getting cold and turned a whitish color.

Why does this have to be happening?

I start crying and my tear drops hit her face. So I'm just gonna lose her like that?

Ray walked over to me, kneeled down, and put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry kid." he says.

So this is how my life is gonna be? Thats it? Nothing else is gonna come?
There's not gonna be anyone else that I'll ever love as much.

2 months later.

We never had a burial for Rose, but Ray kept her and tried running some tests on her because she had un-humanlike abilities. School has been really depressing and nothing special has happened. I've been doing a lot of homework and school activities.
Ray hasn't beeped me for work in a while, so I don't have that much stress being put on me.

I haven't really talked to anyone in a while besides Charlotte since she used to be my closest friend. Sarah and Chloe became really good friends and Charlotte got over having a crush on me.

I've decided that missing two weeks worth of work is too much, so I walk all the way from my school to Junk-N-Stuff. I hop into the elevator and push the button down.

As the doors open I hear Ray talking to someone in another room.

"Ray?" I call out.

He comes walking out of his room and shuts the door behind him.

"What's up?" I ask with curiosity.

He walks away from the door and sits down.

"Nothing." he says.

Knowing me I'm very curious, so I end up running over to the door.

"Henry don't you open that door!" Ray shouts.

I ignore him and open the door and I never expected to see...
