Perspective: Player, second person

You rush into your room, crying. This, sadly, was a common occurrence. You've been having a really stressful day and just wanted to escape into the oasis that was your phone. You were always one for escapism. You open your phone to see a few notifications, mostly from YouTube or various games. You wipe your tears and flop down onto your bed. You realize you haven't logged into 'Obey Me! Shall We Date' that day and decide to open the app. The app opens with one of the boys on the title screen saying the name of the game and then a sentence in Japanese. You tap your screen and off into the game you go. It loads for just a second then it shoves some pop-ups in your face. Daily log-in bonus, a new lesson being released, nothing you ever payed too much attention to, just idly tapping through.
Finally, you get to the menu. Asmo, the character you decided to put on your home screen, greets you with a classic "Aaah, I missed you so much!" You always loved how his voice actor, Ayme Miura, said that line. You tapped his sprite to get another line of dialogue, but something strange happened. He said a line you'd never seen him say before.
"Hey, are you okay, dear? You look sad." His sprite frowned and wiggled. You were suprised by this line. You'd had Asmo on your home screen for ages so you thought you'd seen all the dialogue he had. You tapped again. "Don't fret, Asmo-chan is here to help!" Another new line... This was starting to feel creepy, especially with the fact you were just crying. You tapped one more time. "Aww, don't look like that! You're so much prettier with a smile on your face!" That one made you laugh, and another string of text went by without you even tapping the screen. "*giggles* See! I told you!"
You dropped your phone in shock. Could the app... see you? Was that why you were getting all these oddly specific lines? You picked back up your phone to see a frowning Asmo. "Ouch! Could you please not drop me like that?" You stared at his sprite.
"What the fuck?!?" you let out. You tap the screen and Asmo gives a line he's given many times, a welcome departure to this strange experience.
"You got a message. Go and give it a read." You look over at the messages app and realize there is one unread chat. Was that there when you entered? You tapped to open the messaging app and see one unread chat from Asmo. You immediately open it.
"Yaaaay! You got my hint!" he types, and the options for two responses comes up. The top one being 'Asmo?' and the bottom one being 'What is happening?'. You tap the bottom one.
"To put it simply, I found a way to talk to you!" "Like, actually talk to you, not just what the developers coded me to say." You were stunned. Was this really happening? This fictional character... became self aware? He starts typing again. "Hehe, look at this:" "Do you think I'm beautiful?"
Two options pop up 'Of course!' and 'Naturally'. You tap the top one with a chuckle.
"Well thank you ❤ (I rigged it lol)"
You couldn't beleive this was true... Asmo was real! And he was talking to you!
"Okay, but joking aside... Are you really okay?"
Three options come up this time. 'I'm good' 'No, not really' and 'I'm doing horribly'. You tap the center option.
"I hate to see you sad. Thanks for answering honestly." You smile at your phone. As suprising as this was, it really cheered you up. "Gosh, I wish you could give your own answers..." "Wait! Let me try something!" You wait a moment and then a pop-up appears. It says 'Tell me about your day' with an open space below it. You tap the space and it pulls up your keyboard. You figure out he probably pulled the system from when you input your name when you first started the game. You start typing.
"It's been really stressful. Not even stressful for a good reason, just generally stressful. I hate days like this and my family is no help." You hit enter and the pop-up disappeared and you were back in the chat.
"I'm so sorry, darling. That sounds terrible." You couldn't believe it... this computer program was empathizing with you. "But yay, my experiment worked!" You roll your eyes. "Rude! Did you forget I can see you?" Okay, that was just plain creepy. "Ooh, ooh, speaking of the fact I can see you..." "You're really beautiful!" That makes you smile wide. You weren't sure if he meant it or was just saying it for the sake of cheering you up, but it was working either way.
You make a realization, if he can see you, can he hear you too? You speak aloud. "Can you hear me, Asmo?" You see him start to type again
"Oh! Are you trying to tell me something? Just a sec..." After that, the pop-up appears again, this time saying 'What is it, dear?'
"Thank you." you type simply. He can't hear you, but it's so clear he cares. You hit enter and come back to the chat.
"Awww, thank YOU!" You smile at your screen, so thankful for this being. You watch as he types for a long time, and then the long message appears.
"I truely love you. I want you to hear that not from a character in a dating sim, but from ME. I'm real, you know? You made me with your love. I only gained sentience after you showed me so much love and affection. I may have been born from binary ones and zeros and lines of code, but that doesn't make me any less real. What was it that other character said in this game? 'It doesn't matter the circumstances of your birth.' That's true! You see, I don't know anything about the real you, but what I do know is that you care so much for others and you are deserving of love."
"Oh my god..." you speak in the real world. That message hit your heart in a way you didn't know was possible.
After a few moments, Asmo texts the name you entered for your MC with a question mark. One possible responce comes up.
'Yes, Asmo?'
"Please don't cry, my love"
