Ship: Asmodeus x Solomon
Perspective: MC, third person & Asmodeus, third person

MC is gender neutral here

MC was in their room researching some magic. Solomon was teaching them how to use their pacts effectively (along with some other general magic) and he had lended them a few old spellbooks of his to read through. Flipping through the pages, a slip of paper fell out. There had been a few notes on or in the pages so far from Solomon so this seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary. It was writen in a cleaner script than the rest of the quick notes, and seemed fancier in general. Still, MC read the contents, expecting something to do with magic or spells.

My Dear Asmodeus,

I've found myself deeply infatuated by you. I can hardly think without your siren song calling me back to you. You say your powers don't seem to work on me as strongly as they do others, but I still find myself completely enthralled. I can taste you on my tounge, a sickeningly sweet drug that I've become addicted to. I've been told by others you're just a temptress and I fear they're correct, for the temptation is far too much to bare. I can't stay away from you. This is more than desire, more than lust. I have fallen obsessed.
I've been dabbling in the occult for quite a while and making a pact with you has given me so much power, but even more than that it's given me a better outlook. I used to think of heaven and hell as power sources and nothing more, but I now see the error in my thinking. Demons aren't things for wizards to use, they're people. And you're a person I've fallen so deeply in love with.

Solomon

MC was completely taken aback. Solomon wrote a love letter to Asmo? And judging by the fact it was stuffed in an old book means he never gave it to him. MC was well aware of the tension between the two, but was always under the impression it was a friends with benefits situation. This... this clearly shows more feelings below the surface.

Dropping everything, they rush out of their room and rapidly knock on Asmo's door.
"Wow, what's got you so excited?" Asmo jokes as he opens the door. MC pushes the letter into his hands.
"Read this!" They direct. Asmo notices the top of the letter and smiles.
"Aww, you wrote me a love letter? That's so sweet!" He coos.
"No, read it!" They continue to direct. Asmodeus reads the note, and quickly realizes it's not from the human in front of him. It's from a different powerful human.
"What is this?" He mumbles, putting a hand on his chest.
"I found it in an old spellbook Solomon lended to me." They explain.
"Ive never seen this before." He furrows his brow, inspecting the letter. He walks into his room and MC follows, closing the door behind them. "Why would he..? Maybe he messed up when working with love spells? Maybe it was an error when chanelling my power?" He paces, eyes fixated on the letter.
"What do you mean, isn't it obvious?" MC smiles. Asmo looks up and raises an eyebrow. After some silence they speak "He's in love with you. Plain as that."
"That's... no, that can't be it." He goes back to pacing. "O-Of course Solomon loves me, everyone does, but he's not IN LOVE with me. We've known each other a long time and I would KNOW, you know?" He insists. MC holds back a laugh at his phrasing. "Like, in this letter he uses the word 'obsessed', that's such an obvious sign of some kind of magical interference!" MC shakes their head.
"Well, if you're really so sure, why don't you ask Solomon? If it's what you think it is you can have a good laugh over it, and if it's genuine you can finally talk about it." They suggest.
"Great idea! I'll go over to Purgatory Hall right now." He grabs his phone and stuffs it and the letter into his pockets. "And I'll make sure to pin the blame on you if he gets mad at me for inturrupting anything important." He says smugly, then leaves.

Asmo knocks on the Purgatory Hall front door and Simeon answers.
"Oh! Solomon didn't tell me you were coming over." he says, surprised to see the demon.
"That's because he didn't invite me. I just felt like coming over." he explains in a half-truth. Simeon smiles and steps to the side, letting Asmo in.
"I'm sure he'll be happy to see you."
Asmo takes the familiar short trip to Solomon's room and opens the door. He sees Solomon's back as he's hunched over his table typing away on his laptop.
"Hello~!" Asmo sings. Solomon jumps in surprise and turns his chair around. He sighs when he sees him.
"Could you please knock when I'm not expecting you? I'm fine with you barging in when I invite you over but you just scared me half to death." He complains, standing up from his chair to walk over. Asmo closes the door behind him and the two meet at the center of the room. "What do you need?" Asmo giggles at his exasperation.
"So, funny story, MC was reading some of those magic books you gave them and they found this note." He pulls the letter out of his pocket and hands it to Solomon. The human immediately freezes when he sees it's contents. "Now they're convinced this is a genuine love letter, but I don't think so. You wrote this after messing with infatuation magic, right?" Asmo asks, not noticing the sorcerer's state. Solomon stares at the letter for a minute then chuckles.
"Wow, it's been so long since I wrote this" he says to himself. He looks to the side with a soft blush covering his cheeks. "Asmo, you are..." he chuckles again and looks him in the eyes "... so enchanting. This wasn't the side effect of any magic, it was my real infatuation with you. It feels crazy to say it but... yeah. This is real." He looks back down at the note and cringes. "God, I thought I was such a poet back then." he self-deprecates. He takes a breath then lets the paper fall to the floor. "Guess the cat's out of the bag now." He looks back up and notices Asmo's unbelieving expression.
"That was real?" he asks softly, not much louder than a whisper. Solomon takes a step closer to him.
"Yes. Honestly." Asmo looks Solomon up and down.
"Why did you never tell me? Why didn't you ever give me the letter?" he questions, just as soft as before.
"I didn't want to ruin our dynamic. My pacts are contracts. Business relationships. And yes, you can be friends with your coworkers, but it becomes so much more complicated when romance gets involved." He looks to the side with a twinge of anxiety. "Even when we would have sex, it was all transactional. It was our deal, I would use your power in return for you using my body." He fidgets with his sleeves, slightly uncomfortable with being completely honest like this. They stay like that for a moment.
"I didn't think like that at all." Asmo breaks the silence. "I'm not just another one of your pacts, we both know that. I always saw what we had as more intimate." He takes Solomon's hands in his. "I experience attraction so much differently than anyone else in the three worlds. My existence is to be attraction incarnate, in a way." He stops and chuckles to himself. "Wow, who's the poet now?" he jokes. Solomon chuckles too. He looks him in the eyes, holding his hands tight. "Solomon, I... I love you so much. I love you almost as much as I love myself, if you can believe it. There's a reason I've stayed by your side so long and it's because I'm in love with you." he confesses. They stare into each others eyes for a moment before Solomon cups Asmo's cheek.
"I don't know why I never considered you felt the same way." he lets out. Then, he leans in and kisses him. It's different than the passionate sensual kisses they've shared in the heat of the moment in the past. It's romantic and honest and wholesome and all the things they've been missing in their relationship all these years.
No lust. Only love.
