Tony's POV

"Come on Steve, we have to go!" I yell at him across the wreckage. I see him stand up and run towards me, putting his shield on his back and leaping over a giant hunk of stone from the building. Getting closer, I start to walk towards him slowly.

He starts to slow as he stops right in front of me. The helmet of my suit pulls back to reveal to Steve the scratch across my eyebrow. He frowns and lifts his hand, gazing a thumb across the scratch with the rest of his hand resting on my cheek.

"You got hurt," he frowns, looking concerned. I instead smile and turn my head, kissing the inside of his palm, making him smile in return.

"I'm ok, promise," he pulls his hand away and instead grabs my neck, pulling me in for a quick kiss before I hook my right arm around his back and the left under his knees. I push off the ground and the thrusters kick in, pushing us higher then propelling us towards New York City. We flew over the trees surrounding the demolished Hydra base and eventually made it into the city, manoeuvring through the buildings and eventually getting to Avengers tower, where we could see the other Avengers (Pietro, Clint, Wanda, Nat, Bruce, Thor, Peter, Bucky, Sam and Loki (who turned good after his jail time on Asgard)) waiting in the penthouse.

I fly into the garage at the back of the building and set down in front of the door to my garage. I put Steve on his feet and my suit disappears into the silver chain necklace resting just above my arc reactor. He takes my hand in his and pulls me through the door into my garage. My vintage cars are lined up on either wall with a display of some of my suits and their corresponding chains hanging in front of them.

He pulls me over to one of the tables with pieces of one of the cars scattered across it and grabs the mostly clean rag and dabs at the blood trickling slightly from the cut. Once the blood is gone, Steve leans forward and kisses the cut lightly, before pulling back and staring into my eyes. I stare straight back into his eyes and smile.

"Are you sure your ok?" He asks again.

"Yeah I'm fine. Are you ok? You've been fussing over me and haven't even thought about taking care of yourself,"

"I think so," he replies, probably mentally checking himself over. I step back and check for any blood. Seeing none, I smile at him again and start to walk towards the elevator.

"We should probably head up to the others, we need to talk to Fury," I say over my shoulder.

"Since when did you want to talk to Fury about missions. Usually you retreat to our room when we talk about that stuff," Steve questions and I can actually hear the smirk on his face.

"Since you almost got shot at by a robot that looked suspiciously like Ultron," I reply back, stepping into the elevator and turning to see him half sprint towards me to get into the elevator before the doors close.

"STEVE!"

I stomp into the penthouse at 8 am for breakfast to find Steve sitting at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, looking at me over a book and eating a bowl of cereal that Peter, no doubt, got him addicted to. I walk up to him and slam the Stark Pad in my hand on to the table next to him.

Steve jumps slightly at the loud bang and turns his head to look at the device. He picks it up and I can see his eyes have gone wide. He looks up at me, looking terrified and a little angry.

On the Stark Pad, was the cover of the New York Times newspaper, with a photo of me in the Iron Man suit, carrying Steve, in his suit, with his head against my shoulder and our arms wrapped tightly around each other. The headline of the newspaper, 'Love Affair in the Ranks?'
